Comrade Yinka Odumakin: We Celebrate A Firebrand of our Struggle It was a strange coincidence That was hatched by providence And delivered from the celestial realm To the terrestrial plane On 10th December 1966 As mankind assembled To commemorate the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights. Our baby Comrade cried in a cradle ln our corner of a tempestuous globe To begin a journey which actualized his manifest destiny As a Champion for Human Rights His fearless commitment To truth and justice Knew no bounds. He courageously marched Where many feared to tread He dared the high and mighty And exposed their shenanigans As we mark his 58th posthumous birthday The Nigerian Human Rights Community celebrates him While we still mourn him And the nation still searches For one who will wear his big shoes And write with his pulsating pen But the family is strengthened By his worthy legacy And the avalanche of encomiums From different segments of people of goodwill who appeared at our cherished moments over the years our loved ones, our friends who stood by us and are still standing...we thank you. Aluta CONTINUA... Victoria acerta

Unite to End Violence against Women Violence against women and girls remains one of the most widespread human rights violations across the world. Globally, about one in every three women have been subjected to physical and/or sexual violence at least once in their lives. In 2023 alone, at least 51,100 women were murdered by their partners and family members. This implies that a woman was killed every 10 minutes last year. The 2024 campaign would focus on the fact that "Every 10 Minutes, a woman is killed." The campaign will draw attention to the alarming increase in the violence against women, revitalize commitments and call for action from decision-makers. Women Arise Ambassadors and Champions will continue to push for more protection for our women and girls. We call on various tiers of government in Nigeria to continue to provide an enabling environment for prosecution of human rights violators. #WomenArise #16daysofActivism #Silenceisnolongergolden.
