So many people do not know how much a dental infection (cavity) can actually spread from the mouth to the face. It often starts with tooth decay(Like what you can see in the video). When bacteria reach the inner part of the tooth, they can cause an infection that spreads beyond the root. You may experience toothache, gum swelling, facial swelling and sometimes fever. In severe cases, the infection can spread into the surrounding facial tissues, causing cellulitis, and even involve the maxillary sinus, as you can see in this video, where the infection appears to extend into the sinus area above the upper teeth.👀 Yes, that tooth would be removed and the pus drained out. Because that’s the source of the infection. 💯💯💯 I know it’s long, but walk with me and learn a thing or two. 🙏🏼😅 So please, don’t ignore a toothache or facial swelling! Here’s how to prevent such from ever happening: - Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste (Colgate toothpaste) - Clean between your teeth daily using a dental floss. - Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups. - Seek prompt dental care when you notice pain or swelling. Like ASAP. Remember, painkillers may relieve the pain without treating the underlying infection. Dental problems should never be taken lightly. Prevention is always better than cure! The second part of the video shows a Frenectomy - a procedure in which restrictive frenum tissue is removed or released, with sutures placed when necessary. It may be recommended for issues such as restricted lip movement, gum recession, or a gap between the front teeth. Both procedures are performed by a dentist. See your dentist today! 🦷
