You gonna just decide that I'm drunk? Who are you to decide that I'm drunk? I make that decision. That decision is between me and God.

And this part should sound familiar to just about everyone. So Mobb Deep, OutKast, Jay-Z & Beyoncé all found inspiration from this one Prince song. It’s why whenever someone says “I never listened to Prince” I’m always like yes you have. His fingerprints are on so much.

Pop for my money is the greatest coach in NBA history and he has never lost sight of what really matters.

This is one of my favorite things about Nikki Giovanni. She was down for black youth in a way a lot of our elders werent. She lit Bill Cosby up in 2007 when he got on his anti black youth shit and he was echoing all the disconnected shit so many of us heard before from our elders. She was our cool aunt. She radiated love and understanding for black youth. She will be missed dearly. 🌹

And since the new twitter rules are we can’t discuss Mobb Deep without discussing OutKast now, the soliloquy at the end of If I Was Your Girlfriend always felt like such an inspiration to Andre 3000’s whole aesthetic. It’s The Love Below condensed to 90 seconds.

Anyway here’s Scarface and Ice Cube -two rappers who Congress set their sights on during their anti rap crusade- on Hand of the Dead Body in 1994 speaking on this very topic of government suppression and censorship. First appearance by the legendary Devin The Dude on the hook too
