A growing number of individuals and groups on the right are turning their back on conservatism without giving up the label. They have abandoned the three-legged stool of fiscal conservatism, traditional values, and a foreign policy approach of peace through strength. Instead, they want to harness the power of the federal government to punish the left and implement their preferred policy agenda. They give no credence to the guiding principles of limited government and instead are happy to use big government in order to win. I wrote about this in National Review here:

This White House needs a new message about the economy because the message sounds like the Biden White House's message, denying reality. I bought a 12oz bag of Community Coffee at the grocery store Sunday for $14.99. It was $11.99 at Kroger. And that's just one of many items.

Here’s what blows my mind: The primary in Maine has not happened yet. Janet Mills is technically still on the ballot. Democrats could rally around the popular, normie, statewide elected official and ditch the Nazi guy who fantasized about rape, sexted a dozen women, and visited apps known for pedophilia. But they won’t.

So many of you were opposed to Mamdani wanting to seize the means of production in New York City, but are totally fine with Trump’s Commerce Secretary wanting the US government to become the largest shareholder of Intel. This is socialism with an R next to its name.
