HUD SIGHT is an aiming device primarily designed for airsoft guns and equipped with a ballistic computation system. It predicts and displays the point of impact by accounting for the Magnus effect acting on BB pellets and the gravity vector derived from the gun’s orientation.
I’ve received many questions about applying this to real firearms, so here’s my answer. Firearm ownership is restricted in Japan, but ballistic data is publicly available, so the system includes profiles for several handgun and rifle rounds—purely as a joke. Examples include 9×19mm , .45 ACP, 5.56mm NATO, and 7.62mm NATO. When switched to “live-ammo mode,” the ballistic engine switches to a completely different calculation and renders trajectories up to 2,000 meters. That said, I’ve never actually used it, so whether it’s accurate is anyone’s guess.
In parallel, I am exploring projects focused on target identification (primarily human bodies) and distance estimation. The goal is to create a world where everyone can enjoy shooting activities safely and peacefully.
