Saudi military officer: “The Iranians are our friends, our dear friends; we wish you a happy stay in our country. The Saudi King, Crown Prince and Defense Minister have instructed us to take care of you and provide you with all what you need. We are happy to have you with us.” Iranian official: “Appreciated. Thank you; thank you.”

By giving the Palestinian delegation such a warm welcome and announcing China-Palestine strategic partnership, the Chinese government has sent clear messages that can be perceived as follows: To Palestinians: we support your just cause To Arabs: we are aligned with your vision for your region and support you on your core issues To Muslims: we are allies despite the petty and futile attempts to portray us otherwise To the world: we are on the side of justice To Europe: you have been unfair to Palestinians and you owe them a lot for the tragedy you have created in Palestine To the US administration: you aren’t qualified to be the only arbiter on Palestine To Zionists: we are not sure about your future

Those who deliberately spread lies about Xinjiang and its Muslim population are just shameless liars. They try to use Xinjiang’s majestic diversity to internally destabilise China and externally create a rift between the Muslim world and China. Now that I have spent more than 20 days in Xinjiang, I can say with complete confidence that the Western narrative about Xinjiang is just that: a lie. I believe China’s rise won’t be stopped by some insecure hegemonists who have been discredited domestically and internationally. The hegemonists’ delusion to brutally and rapaciously dominate the world is now on full display for the entire world to see, especially in Palestine, Ukraine and Taiwan. The hegemonists’ sense of insecurity about their place in the world is making them reveal their true nature, their predatory behaviour, their brazen hypocrisy, their extreme incompetence and their ugly immorality. Whether the hegemonists like it or not, the world is inevitably moving into a new order, simply because most of the world badly wants it. Note: The video clip here was spontaneously taken by somebody who seemed to be a Muslim from Xinjiang. We both happened to be buying Halal food from a Muslim Uighur restaurant in Ürümqi, Xinjiang’s capital city.

There are many Islamic schools, societies and associations in China. In Xinjiang alone, there are 24,000 mosques — 1 mosque for every 530 Muslims, 10 schools of Islamic sciences and more than 100 religious societies. Here is one example from Yunnan Province.
