I miss Seo Ye Ji. 🤧 Say what you want about her, but one thing nobody can take away from her is her screen presence. She’s one of those actresses who doesn’t even need to say a word; the moment she appears on screen, your eyes automatically follow her. From Save Me to It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and even Eve, she had this aura that made every scene feel bigger than it was. Whether you loved her character or hated her character, you watched. And that’s a rare talent. It’s been years since Eve, and I still find myself waiting for that one drama announcement that will put her back on my screen full time. Apparently, she has slowly returned to acting through theater and stage performances after her hiatus, but I need a proper Kdrama comeback. Kdramaland just doesn’t feel the same without Seo Ye Ji serving face, charisma, fashion, and that slightly unhinged vibe only she can pull off. 🥹

It’s slice of life in the most literal sense people sitting in rooms with their envy, their 20 year old dreams that never launched, their friends who made it while they didn’t. It’s quiet. It’s slow. It lingers on silences. But that’s exactly why it gutted me. Because this show understands the war you don’t talk about. The one where you open Instagram at 2am and feel like a failure. Where you’ve been “trying” for years and the world still doesn’t know your name. Hwang Dong-man, twenty years into film school, still no debut. Byeon Eun-ah, called “The Axe” because she has to kill other people’s dreams for a living. Everyone in this drama is carrying some private worthlessness, some comparison they can’t shake. It’s not entertaining in the way K-dramas usually are. It’s uncomfortable. It holds up a mirror to the parts of you that feel behind, bitter, unseen. But that’s why it’s so relatable. That’s why I think everyone should watch it. On the outside, life looks fine but inside, everyone is struggling in their own way. And I think that’s what makes it so relatable. We spend so much time pretending we’re fine, pretending we’re winning. We Are All Trying Here just. admits it. We’re all scared we’re wasting our lives. We are all anxious. We’re all trying here. I just finished Episode 1 of Spooky in Love and Park Eun-bin really wakes up every year and says, “What genre haven’t I conquered yet?” Legal drama. Medical drama. Historical drama. Thriller. And now an occult romance where she sees ghosts. 😭 I kept saying I wanted to see Park Eun-bin play a chaebol princess, and she basically said, “Here I am.” 😂 That woman’s range needs to be studied. I also love when Kdramas take the most ridiculous premise imaginable and somehow make it work. “A woman who can see ghosts falls for a prosecutor while solving supernatural cases.” On paper, that sounds absolutely ridiculous. In execution I’m already hooked after one episode. #spookyinlove
