ELLA’S VOICE Getting in line this morning with my family, I never imagined where the day would lead. Now I’m sitting in the front row at President Donald J. Trump President Trump’s event in Chippewa Falls, and honestly, it’s hard to put into words what this moment feels like. As I waited in line, I kept thinking about how much has changed over the past year. I was just a girl in New Richmond who believed girls deserved privacy in their bathrooms, fairness in their sports, and the protections Title IX was meant to guarantee. When I spoke up, I wasn’t trying to become an activist. I wasn’t looking for attention. I simply knew that what was happening wasn’t right, and I couldn’t stay silent. There were difficult moments along the way, but I never stopped believing that girls deserve a voice.

I was just a high school girl who believed girls deserved privacy, fairness, and the protections Title IX promised us. I never expected speaking up at a school board meeting would lead to moments like this. But I’m grateful. Grateful to be here with my family. Grateful for everyone who encouraged me. Grateful that girls across Wisconsin and America are finally being heard. This fight was never just about me. It’s about every girl who wants to walk into a bathroom, a locker room, or onto a field and know that adults are willing to protect her.

Not long ago, I was standing before my school board in New Richmond, speaking out because I believed girls deserved privacy, fairness, and equal opportunities. I wasn’t trying to make headlines. I just didn’t want girls to lose the protections that generations of women fought to secure. Today, I’m here representing so many girls who feel the same way. No matter what happens over the next few hours, I’m grateful for this opportunity, grateful for my family, and grateful for everyone who has stood alongside me. Most of all, I’m grateful that people across the country are finally having conversations about protecting girls and preserving the promise of Title IX. It’s going to be an incredible day, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. 🇺🇸❤️

When my school allowed a biological male into the girls' restroom without telling parents — I went to the school board. With my name attached. In my own town. I got bullied for it. Harassed online. Even some of my own teachers came after me. I'm still here. Because here's what I know: The net in women's volleyball is set nearly a foot lower for a reason. A biological male can hit a ball across that net at force that could seriously injure a girl. And in track — all it takes is three biological males entering the girls' category and not a single girl in this state stands on a podium. I didn't speak up because it was easy. It's weird that adult teachers and staff are hating on me on social media. Teachers always say that everyone has the right to their own beliefs. I believe that too. I also think that facts are facts. Boys can't simply choose to become girls and expect to take away our rights.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who sent messages of encouragement and support! I never imagined that policies permitting boys in my bathroom could exist in my hometown. Seeing how many young girls were too afraid to speak out made me realize I had to take action.

I remember exactly how it felt realizing girls were being told to stay silent and accept things that were clearly unfair. When my high school let boys use the girls bathrooms, I went through shock, denial, fear, anger, and eventually determination. That determination turned into action, because I knew staying quiet would never protect girls like me.
