A young Elon Musk predicting the impact he wants to leave on the world: โI think what I'd like to do is help solve some important problems. So, I think, in a small way, help build the internet. And then with respect to the global warming problem, the transition away from oil and other hydrocarbons to something which is clean and sustainable, I hope to have an impact there. And then with respect to space, the long-term ultimate objective, the holy grail, is to help make life multi-planetary. That's really what I would like to do.โ

Elon Musk: The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is the empathy exploit โThere's a guy who posts on the internet who's great, Gad Saad, and he talks about basically suicidal empathy. There's so much empathy that you actually suicide yourself. So we've got civilizational suicidal empathy going on. I believe in empathy. I think you should care about other people, but you need to have empathy for civilization as a whole and not commit to a civilizational suicide. The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy. The empathy exploit. They're exploiting a bug in Western civilization, which is the empathy response. I think empathy is good, but you need to think it through and not just be programmed like a robot. Its weaponized empathy is the issue.โ

![Elon Musk has consistently raised the issue of holding Epstein's clients accountable. He's one of the voices that has kept the noise around this matter alive, preventing those with access to the evidence from concealing it: โI think the public will be rightly frustrated if no one is prosecuted for the Epstein client list. No one at all. Some number should at least be an attempted prosecution of the worst offenders. [If Ghislaine Maxwell is in jail for sex trafficking], that means sex trafficking occurred. So, who were the clients? So the proof is there. I mean, there's lots of videos. Whenever they raided Epstein's place, there would have been like a mountain of evidence. Where is that mountain? Like, who took possession of the evidence? Specifically.โ Video: Mario Nawfal](https://image.24vids.com/tw-2017925647545299167/amplify_video_thumb/2017925494558109696/img/zLszh-mdwsKquT0Z.jpg)

Elon Musk is a truly extraordinary person and a very atypical boss. He can easily wander into the studio where SpaceX employees are broadcasting live and fill it and the audience with positive emotions๐๐ผ I love that about him! ๐ฉต

Talulah Riley on Elon Musk: If Elon invites you to a hotel room to watch rocket videos, he will show you rocket videos ๐๐๐ โMy first impressions were that he was very sweet, he seemed quite shy. He... said, 'I don't usually do this, but I'd love to see you tomorrow. Can we meet for breakfast?' And we have breakfast and then... he said, 'Will you come and have lunch with me?' So then we went for lunch and he said, 'Will you come to dinner?' And then, one evening, he said, 'Would you like to come back to my hotel room, so we can look at rocket videos?' I was like, 'Okay, yeah, I will come back,' and we did come back to his hotel room and he did just show me rocket videos.โ

Elon Musk explains why government efficiency matters: โI mean, North Korea, they're starving. South Korea, it's like amazing. And so in North Korea, you've got 100% government. In South Korea, you've got probably, I don't know, 40% government. It's not zero. And yet you've got a standard of living that is probably 10 times higher in South Korea. At least. And then East and West Germany, in West Germany, you had, just thinking in terms of cars, I mean, you had BMW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes. And East Germany, which is a random line on a map, the only car you could get was a Trabant, which is basically a lawnmower with a shell on it. And it was extremely unsafe. There was a 20-year wait. So you put your kid on the list as soon as they're conceived. Even then, only, I think, a quarter of people maybe got this lousy car. So that's just an interesting example of basically the same people, different operating system.โ

Maye Musk Maye Musk was once asked, if she could give advice to her younger self, what would it be? โI would say if you're in an unhappy situation, get out quicker, don't think it's going to change, you have to get out. And getting out of them could mean financial loss, it could mean you lose your friends, it could be because you're moving to a new city, where you have no friends. And it still could be better that what you were in before. Accept the consequences, be responsible for yourself, but you can survive.โ

Elon Musk on his young years in Canada: โI came to North America when I was 17 just by myself. I had a few thousand dollars in Travelers' checks... in Canadian dollars. I landed in Montreal. I have some family in Canada, and my mom's uncle lived in Montreal, but we didn't even know his phone number. I landed in Montreal, and my mom says, 'I just got a letter back from my uncle and he's in Minnesota' or something. I'm like, 'Okay, I don't know what to do now.' So I just stayed in the Youth Hostel and bought a bus ticket across Canada. I worked in various odd jobs and stuff. I worked on my mom's cousin's wheat farm in Saskatchewan for six weeks. That's where I had my 18th birthday, actually. Worked in the Lumser Mill, Chainsaw Logs, did various odd jobs. And then went to college in Canada for a couple of years... And then I applied to the University of Pennsylvania. I didn't think I'd be able to go because the tuition is really high, but they gave me a scholarship and loans and stuff, so I was able to go there.โ

Elon Musk on the importance of establishing the right values โโin AGI: โI don't think anyone's ultimately going to have control over digital superintelligence any more than, say, a chimp would have control over humans. Like chimps don't have control over humans. There's nothing they could do. But I do think that it matters how you build the AI and what kind of values you instill in the AI. And my opinion on AI safety is, the most important thing is that it be maximally truth-seeking, like that you don't force the AI to believe things that are false.โ

Elon Musk: Freedom of speech is the bedrock of democracy โ If you don't have freedom of speech, you don't have democracy. Because if you don't have freedom of speech, people cannot make an informed vote. If they're just being fed propaganda, and there's no freedom of speech, democracy is an illusion. Freedom of speech is the bedrock of democracy. That's why freedom of speech is the First Amendment. Once you lose freedom of speech, you lose democracy. Game over.โ

Kimbal Musk recounts how his brother, Elon Musk, was beaten to within an inch of his life in South Africa: โI was sitting next to Elon and these guys came up to, 4 or 5 guys, and they just start beating him, and beating him senseless with their fists. There's nothing I can do to help. I just have to sit and watch this... I might have done something, I can't remember like because you're just in this like trance of 'What is going on?' And they had the intention to beat him to death. And it was just awful... the most awful thing to witness. My brother's face was unrecognizable... It was just swollen lumps of someone that had been almost beaten to death.โ

Maye Musk recalls Elon telling her he wanted to create a network of satellites to save lives: "Elon surprises us every time when he says he's going to do something. When he said to me, 'I'm going to put satellites in the air so that people who are in the forest, or on hills, or in the middle of the ocean can be saved, it will save lives,' and now, it's saving lives around the world."

![Elon Musk on XChat: โThere are just some things that are less insecure than others. So, you know, on X, we just rebuilt the entire messaging stack into what's called XChat. It's using a sort of a peer-to-peer based encryption system. It's kind of similar to Bitcoin. I think it's very good encryption. We're testing it thoroughly. There are no hooks in the X system for advertising. So if you look at something like WhatsApp or really any of the others, they've got hooks in there for advertising. [Hook is] like WhatsApp knows enough about what you're texting to know what ads to show you. That's a massive security vulnerability.โ](https://image.24vids.com/tw-1988548071735664827/amplify_video_thumb/1988538187988254721/img/btxljTptnaKBr37N.jpg)

Elon Musk: Never trust a cynic, because most people are kind of medium good โค๏ธ โNever trust a cynic. The reason is, that cynics excuse their own bad behavior by saying everyone does it, because they're cynical. So I always be, it's a red flag if someone's a cynic, a true cynic. But this is an important point that I think people listening should bear in mind. If somebody is cynical, meaning that they see bad behavior in everyone, it's easy for them to excuse their own bad behavior by saying, well, everyone does it, but it's not true. Most people are kind of medium good.โ
