The Kigurumi Classroom ✏️ Here's a little behind-the-scenes from a kigurumi classroom photoshoot I joined a while back. The idea was simple: bring together a group of kigs in a classroom setting and see what kind of moments we could create. What I enjoyed most wasn't just the photos, but the experience itself. It was a chance to meet and interact with many kig friends and simply enjoy spending the day together. I also had the opportunity to work with several photographers, each with their own unique style. Some created warm, nostalgic images, while others captured a cooler, more cinematic atmosphere. It was fascinating to see how the same setting could tell completely different stories depending on the person behind the camera. Looking back, it was a truly memorable experience, and I'm grateful to the Hong Kong kig community for organizing it. I think that's one of the special things about this hobby—no matter where you go, there are always friends to meet, each bringing their own personality and creativity. The Punishment Room 🚨 Some friends of mine had been quite naughty lately, so it was only fair that they receive a proper punishment in my little secret dungeon. Their sentence began with hours encased in black latex, followed by a tour of some rather intimidating equipment—from a crucifix frame to the infamous interrogation chair. Let's just say I took my role as the one handing out the punishment very seriously. Judging by their occasional protests... I have a feeling they secretly enjoyed it. 😏 I've only shared a few highlights here. Behind the Scenes of Fufu's Debut Photoshoot 🐯 For Fufu's debut photoshoot, I decided to go with a limbo-style setup. The bright yellow background felt like the perfect match for her design and really helped her stand out. Ironically, limbo shoots are some of the hardest ones to do. 😓 With no furniture, props, or scenery to interact with, you're the entire focus of every photo. That means constantly coming up with new poses while making sure every little detail—from the mask and wig to the outfit—looks just right. One piece of advice I was given was to change poses the instant I hear the camera click. It sounds simple... until you realize you have to think of the next pose almost immediately. Now imagine doing that continuously for four hours straight! 😵💫 Despite the challenge, I really enjoy this style of photoshoot. One thing I always do is put on some music in the background—it helps me get into the rhythm and keeps the ideas flowing. It's surprisingly exhausting... but also incredibly fun. ✌️

Shivers 😖 I accidentally walked in while Kuro was getting changed for gym class today. She didn't panic. She didn't look embarrassed. She simply smiled... ...and somehow, that was even more dangerous. I swear I felt shivers run through my whole body. Maybe this is what people mean when they say love hits you like an arrow. 💘

There’s a lot more that goes into a professional Kig photoshoot than meets the eye! It usually takes a small team of 3–4 people working together, handling camera setup, lighting, costume adjustments, and scene coordination. Since most studios rent sessions for at least 4 hours, every minute counts. That’s why shoots often last 4–6 hours. For the Kig performer, it’s a true test of endurance and creativity. With limited breaks, they have to keep their energy up and continuously come up with new poses to make each photo count. In the end, it’s all about teamwork, dedication, and passion coming together to create those stunning final photos! 💪✨

Becoming Towa 👾 One of the coolest parts of Kig is the pure freedom—the ability to drop my everyday self and step straight into a character I love. For a little while, I get to live as my favorite fantasy persona 🤩 I always try to honor the original character—their vibe, their story, their essence—while adding my own twist. It’s like bringing them to life through my lens 🔎 But the real magic? 🪄 Once I’m in character, I can make them do anything I imagine. Their world becomes my playground, and that creative freedom is what makes Kig so addictive 💖
