It’ll always be my opinion that her children aside, marrying a tin-pot monarch in a bid to turn fantasy into reality by becoming an actual Princess (alongside ‘daddy-issues’, which if you know anything about the lovers & pre-Monaco partners in her life you’ll understand) was the greatest mistake of her life. She was trapped in a gilded cage, aching to escape, knowing this was impossible.
