SHOWDOWN AT THE BORDER: A scene akin to "CHAZ / CHOP" unfolded on the southern border in Lochiel, AZ. Dozens of activists faced Border Patrol at a protest encampment after contractors felled a cottonwood roughly 250 years old—one of the trees locals call the “Grandmother”—to continue border-wall construction. Since July 27th, they've occupied a cottonwood tree to shut down construction of the double border wall. While reporting on the operation, Frontlines manager Brandon Drey was assaulted by multiple left-wing activists, who broke his Meta glasses. When our team returned to the car for first aid, two of our tires had been slashed. Activists have openly mocked and boasted about the slashing while threatening Frontlines staff. Multiple arrests have been made, and the situation is still developing. Stay tuned for on-the-ground updates. Tayler Hansen | Turning Point USA

NEW: On September 10, the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, a University of Utah student walked up to the College Republicans’ campus booth with a cake that read “Happy Kirkiversary.” Riley Barnes, vice president of the club, posted the photo. It went viral. Now the fight is over who should be punished. Speaking with Frontlines reporter Tayler Hansen, Barnes said she does not expect the club to lose its charter. She alleged that the student who brought the cake is working with protest organizers — including College Democrats and Sunrise Movement — to escalate the story, demand the club be de-chartered, and recast herself as the victim after an apology that Republicans say they already publicly accepted. The university has reviewed the episode amid reports of harassment and death threats against people on both sides. College Democrats have accused College Republicans of doxxing; Barnes called that claim false and said it is being used to bury the original controversy: a student celebrating, on campus, the anniversary of a political assassination. FROM INDIA TO AMERICA: The Canadian Smuggling Route Nearly 50,000 Indians on student visas have disappeared from Canada’s immigration system. But the issue goes far beyond missing international students. Canada’s immigration system has created a pipeline that is being exploited by people seeking a path into the United States—through legal loopholes, visa overstays, and illegal smuggling networks. In this exclusive Frontlines TPUSA documentary, Tayler Hansen and Kian Simone travel across Canada’s southern border, track down and meet with an alleged human smuggler operating on social media, and investigate Brampton’s massive demographic transformation. Through our investigation, we document active crossing routes, test the Royal Canadian Mounted Police response times, and speak with residents living next to the border between Canada and the United States of America. What we uncovered reveals how Canada has become nothing more than a stepping stone into America—and how vulnerable the security is at the northern border. Turning Point USA

HAPPENING NOW: No Kings protests in Seattle are much smaller this time around. But one thing remains the same. The vast majority of participants are baby boomers and white. Jonathan Choe is on the ground right now trying to figure out why this movement lacks so much diversity and interest from younger people. Turning Point USA

THE MOST EXPENSIVE LIBRARY IN TEXAS IS COMPLETELY OVERRUN WITH THE HOMELESS Austin’s Central Public Library, which cost $125 million to build, is now completely overrun with the homeless. This library, which has been featured in TIME magazine, was supposed to be a welcoming space for children and Austin residents. Instead, it has become so unsafe that police officers are permanently stationed there due to the level of violence, harassment, and threats that patrons face. In 2021, the Austin City Council passed an open camping ordinance. Even though Austin residents later voted to reverse it. This is the result of Austin’s soft-on-crime policies and library staff refusing to enforce their own rules. Just a few months ago, a 62-year-old man was punched in the head and left with life-altering brain injuries after being attacked by a homeless man inside the library. Last year, another patron was shot in the 6th-floor bathroom by a homeless man who had been allowed into the building. The six-story, 200,000+ square foot facility features an art gallery, rooftop garden, café, and event space. Yet because it is a public building, it is now overrun by homeless individuals on every floor. Savanah Hernandez | Turning Point USA
