One must applaud the courage to finally acknowledge the failure of our waste management system and to involve the Governor in the effort to address it. That said, the response still feels largely performative, and the urgency appears to have arrived on the eighth day of the week. Nonetheless, every genuine effort to restore cleanliness to our city deserves commendation. In the coming weeks, I will unveil our holistic approach to environmental management and our commitment to Lagos and how we intend to tackle these challenges in our first 18 months in office. in office. For now, here are some of our ideas to restore lagos the the clean city of aquatic splendour.. 👇 🤝 #ourlagos

Typical. So typical of the APC. Once they lose the argument, they retreat into hate mongering, ethnic slurs, and divisive rhetoric. The names are Gbadebo, Chinedu, Patrick RHODES-VIVOUR, Take your pick of any of the three and let's focus on the work you were entrusted to do. Wahab, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but not only have you been the worst Commissioner for Environment this state has seen, you have also been one of the most irresponsible, unbecoming occupants of public office. Again, you are not fit for public office. As I told you in 2024, for the next couple of months try an DO YOUR DAMN JOB!!! Ẹgbọn If you cant , you should resign. Today.

Unlike some, i have only one passport and have sworn no allegiance to any other state. Nigeria is all I have. A war with a people who appear to be uniting around a common interest, seeking economic freedom and a departure from over bearing western influence will have very dire consequences for our image as a regional power and could pose much graver security threats. Their alliance in the footprint of the ancient songhai empire is not by accident, their fight is also ideological with the memory of Thomas Sankara being evoked. For several years in recent times, we have seen both political and military leaders send patriotic soldiers to war illequiped and with very little remuneration while they reward themselves with vanities. We are still grappling with major insecurity as a result of the destabilization of Libya by France and its Allies, and because Africa did not present a United front, west africa is paying the price for that destabilization. Forget the fact that we have serious internal security challenges that is stretching our military, or the fact that our economy is in a parlous state, how does it make sense that Nigeria wants to lead an effort to spill the blood of people who are seeking emancipation? We must focus on a diplomatic solution. Nigeria cannot afford to be enmeshed in a war and we must stand against international destabilization of the region, if we don't, it will be a mess we will eventually clean up and pay dearly for, ask Libya.

Violence is the last refuge of incompetence. The Department of State Services (DSS) is no doubt aware of the NURTW’s directives to its members, urging them to Attack, hurt, maim, disrupt, intimidate, and harm opposition gatherings in Lagos, As we saw happen at my declaration at Alimosho and now threats after our successful gathering at Ajeromi. The President and his Lagos APC allies have controlled Lagos state for over 24 years, yet they have no record to campaign on instead they mobilize people like this to stifle opposition, yet send their own children abroad to benefit from good governance. By labeling opposition voices as “enemies of the President” and threatening those who fail to carry out these acts, the intent is to stifle democracy through fear. Let it be known that we are not intimidated. We make this statement for the record and to emphatically state that no one has a monopoly on violence. When this movie starts you will quickly realise we are the many you are the few. Àwa náà ò kéré, awa gan ò dúró lásán. Ẹrù ìjà kò bá wá.

Lagos can afford to pay its civil service better. On my 1st day in office, I will issue an executive order for it to be looked into. Contract staff will be converted into permanent staff & they will get the benefits that come with it. We deserve better. Èkó E dìde!! ~ GRV.

The reckless sandfilling of our waterbodies and wetlands is the prime reason for the flooding of Lagos. Not only will this development lead to massive flooding of the Lagos mainland LG, It is also displacing Indigenous communities that have existed here for over 200yrs.

It is truly disappointing that the Lagos APC is abusing state institutions by sealing off the venue where the ADC was scheduled to hold a meeting tomorrow after obtaining the necessary approvals. This is not only an abuse of power, it is a clear attempt to stifle opposition voices in Lagos. We understand that the APC is jittery about the momentum the ADC and obidients is building across the state, but deploying state security agencies to frustrate lawful political activities is unacceptable and undemocratic. Lagos belongs to all of us, not a select few. And it is our constitutional right to assemble lawfully. Let it be clear that no amount of intimidation or harassment will stop us from engaging with the people of Lagos. Our movement is powered by the people, and no barricade or show of force can weaken their resolve for a better Lagos. #OURLAGOS

I visited Mende Villa Estate to understand the situation of things. 1) The residents of the estate were never given any notice of demolition. 2) There were no prior warnings or markings in the estate pre-demolition. 3) Bill's for land use charge have consistently been sent.

If only wishes were horses…. If only we could sit in our house and write results on excel sheets to win elections. I get the excitement at the thought that I might have lost a primary: In Dave chappelles words, "When a hero stumbles, cowards rejoice. Nothing feels better to a coward than to watch a brave guy fall." BUT Sorry to dissapoint, that wont be today. The people of Lagos know the name of their champion. Since friday the landslide victory was so definite that we had started celebrations. Last night we were officially declared victorious in a landslide victory. We stay winning against any odds they throw our way, much less excel sheets... Glory be to GOD!!! #ourlagos

Tinubu built Lagos - one of the many lies that has been told ❌❌. I will ensure history, arts and culture is brought back into our school curriculum so no one else in the future would have the chance to get away with such bold faced lies. Èkó E dìde!! ~ GRV.

If Alhaji Jakande and Mobolaji Johnson focused on building houses for the rich and allocating government homes and lands to friends and cronies, 90% of the political elites in Lagos today would have grown up in slums. But sadly, these ~politicians~ profiteers, who enjoyed public housing, public education and public health have completely lost their humanity. Ejecting thousands of children from their homes at midnight and leaving families helpless on the streets. I’ve made myself clear on this matter on multiple occasions. I do not condone illegal buildings but when government is criminally complicit it loses the moral right to demolish houses recklessly. Not even when the same government, despite several appeals, has failed to make adequate investment in public housing. The APC has brought enough pain to the people. It has not only failed to deliver on basic public infrastructure, it is now bent on taking away the hard work and investments of working families. This has to stop. Egypt built over 100,000 flats in Cairo to provide decent housing for slum dwellers but Lagos is forcing thousands into slums with it reckless policies, inhumanity and corruption. Today, I was moved to tears after my visit to Oworoshoki. I witnessed firsthand how men of means have been reduced to destitutes, how women have been stripped of their dignities and how children have had their dreams stolen. Today all they ask for is some form of compensation, something to help them pick up the pieces of their lives. LAGOS needs to be so much more humane. #Ourlagos #Ekotiwa
