🚨76 year old arrested in Portsmouth after wearing full niqab at protest A man claiming to be a gender-fluid Muslim convert turned up in a niqab at Saturday’s protest. Police had already banned face coverings to conceal identity and said the rule would apply equally. He was arrested. The law includes a later defence for genuine religious coverings, but officers can still require removal or arrest first. Expect the same power at future protests. Anyone concealing their face in a designated zone - balaclava, mask or niqab can be asked to uncover. How consistently police apply it will decide whether this stays equal or becomes selective. She found his name. She found the HMO. She offered CCTV. She reported it twice. West Yorkshire Police gave her a reference number. Then they closed the log. No visit. No call. No safeguarding. 🚨This is two tier media. Not a theory. Today’s coverage. Dover: hundreds of men in balaclavas blocked the port for a few hours. No arrests. No violence. Finished by midday. The response was instant. Condemned. Intimidating. Far-right. A threat. Notting Hill Carnival: two million people. 636 arrests. Knife attacks. Sexual offences. Drugs. Weapons. A man dead after fleeing police into a canal. The response was the opposite. Celebration. Culture. “Largely without incident.” “Overwhelmingly positive.” That is the narrative. If the people look like a problem the media already wants you to fear, disruption becomes an outrage. If the event is protected, crime becomes background noise and death becomes a footnote. They did not report both stories by the same standard. They ranked them. One was framed as danger to the country. One was framed as something you are not allowed to criticise.

This is not the first red flag: • Stacked working group - no real dissenting voices • Tightly restricted consultation • Clear conflict of interest on funding • Final recommendations kept secret Now the receipts are gone. Under Section 77 of the FOI Act, deliberately destroying records after a request to prevent disclosure is a criminal offence. Misconduct in public office also exists for serious abuse of trust. Whether this crosses that line is for investigators to decide. But the pattern is clear: stacked process, secrecy, then deleted evidence. A definition they want schools, police and organisations to adopt…and we can’t properly examine how it was made.
