I can understand why many people are upset with Trump accusing Kiev for starting the war. However, we should admit that 2014 has been purged from our collective memory and banned from the war narrative - This was CNN reporting on Kiev's attack on Donbas after the 2014 coup

In 1997, Biden bragged that he dismissed Russia's concerns about NATO expansion. Moscow could be ignored as the US was the only game in town - Biden mocked Russia's warning it would have to align with China, and joked that Russia could also partner with Iran as the crowd laughed

The Europeans will accuse the US of betraying Ukraine. The real betrayal happened with the coup in 2014, co-opting Ukraine's intelligence services in a covert war, support for cultural and political oppression, sabotage of Minsk, sabotage of the 2019 peace mandate, sabotage of Istanbul, and other betrayal the media has refused to report on. Ukraine was made into a frontline state against the will of its people, knowing that Russia considered NATO in Ukraine an existential threat and would destroy Ukraine to prevent it. After sabotaging negotiations, our political leaders refused any diplomacy as they watched hundreds of thousands of young men die and argued that weapons are the path to peace. Our media smeared all criticism and opposition as "Russian propaganda". There is a difference between standing with Ukraine and sacrificing Ukraine in a proxy war. Their moral slogans and accusations of betrayal rings hollow as they have no love for Ukraine in their hearts, only hatred of Russia.
