In the new Indiana Jones game, you can earn bonus XP by going around and taking photos of stray cats. This is a positive feature.

Maybe it's a case of nostalgia goggles but I still think Silent Hill 1 has the most foreboding and unsettling atmosphere out of all the mainline games.

Normalize dynamic menu screens again.

I don't know if this is a "hot take" but do we really need a Max Payne remake? The first two games still look and play amazingly well with minimal effort required to get it running. We need to normalize people putting in a modicum of effort to get older games working.

Y'all need to check out Twisted Tower. It's a super cool upcoming indie game that's like Bioshock meets CarnEvil. The gist is you're trying to get to the top of an abandoned amusement park to rescue your girlfriend.

Reject modernity Embrace late 90's racing games

So there's this game on called DEATHTROOPERS where you're a Stormtrooper that comes across a Star Destroyer overrun with zombies. And it made me realize we've still never had a proper horror game set in the Star Wars universe.

One random feature I do like about Borderlands 4 is how if you deal lots of damage to bosses in a short amount of time you get a literal OOF across their health bar.

Code Violet is easily one of the worst games I've ever played. I'm genuinely baffled to how the developers think they can charge almost $80 for crap like this. I've played $10 UE engine asset flips on Steam that are better and that's saying a LOT. IGN's 4/10 was too generous.

Been playing the hell out of Better Than Dead's closed beta lately, a really cool bodycam style shooter set in Hong Kong, where you play as a young woman going after the people who wronged her. It's kind of like Hotline Miami meets John Woo films.

More people need to know about Crisol. It's a horror FPS set on a fictional Spanish island inhabited by cultists, where you play as a religious fanatic, fighting murderous statues and using your blood as ammunition.

Silent Hill F (2025) Genre: Survival Horror

There's a really cool demo on Steam right now for a game called I Am Your Beast. You're basically a retired John Wick/Jason Bourne, hunted by the intelligence agency you used to work for. It's really good.

So Vice City Next Gen just dropped. It's an incredible fan project that carries Vice City over into the RAGE engine and it's genuinely amazing how well this thing plays.

For people struggling with the combat in Silent Hill 2, you can shoot enemies in the leg and it will drop them to one knee, setting them up for an easy takedown. Shoutout to Uncle Carci🤓カルシ for letting me know about this!

There's a Junji Ito horror game that just out on Steam that heavily references Tomie, Statues and The Long Hair in the Attic where you're playing as some bloke trapped in a mansion and it's absolutely terrifying.

So some guy on Itchio is making an FPS version of OG RE2 and even in this unfinished state it's pretty fucking awesome.
