This is my new video on YouTube about how Nigeria went from having 24 international merchant ships in 1964 to none by 2026. The decline was largely driven by corruption and embezzlement. Many of the ships were eventually seized in foreign ports due to unpaid debts. Here’s the link: I really wish this video will go viral. If this comes across your timeline, please share.

This is a free fall lifeboat. A free fall lifeboat is a fully enclosed lifeboat designed to get people away from a ship as fast as possible in an emergency where the ship is no longer safe for the crew. It looks a bit like a tough, oversized capsule sitting at an angle at the stern of the vessel, patiently waiting for the worst day at sea. When it’s time to launch, there is no slow lowering with ropes. The crew climbs in, straps up, and seals the hatch. With a single release, the boat slides down its ramp and drops freely into the sea. For a few seconds, it feels like falling off a cliff, then comes the splash and the lifeboat resurfaces, engine ready, moving away from danger. Fast, dramatic, and surprisingly effective.

This is Appomattox, the biggest oil rig platform. It is located in the Gulf of Mexico but was built in South Korea It took a total of seven years to build. It had to be transported across the oceans using the world largest marine transport vessel. This is impressive.

Before LNG is loaded into a tank, the tank must be properly prepared through a series of controlled stages. This preparation is critical to ensure safety and to prevent damage due to extreme temperatures. An LNG tank is fitted with different lines, each serving a specific purpose: filling lines, spray lines, discharge lines, and pumps. The first stage is drying. The tank may contain humid air, which can lead to ice formation at low temperatures. To prevent this, dry air is introduced from the bottom of the tank through the filling lines to displace the moist air. Next is inerting. After drying, inert gas is introduced into the tank to purge out the dry air. This step is important to eliminate oxygen and reduce the risk of forming flammable gas mixtures. The third stage is gassing-up (vaporizing). Since inert gas contains carbon dioxide, which can freeze at low temperatures, it must be removed. Warm LNG vapor is introduced through the spray lines to displace the inert gas and prepare the tank for cooling. Then comes cooling down, which is a critical stage. The tank must be gradually cooled to avoid thermal stress that could damage the structure. Cold LNG is sprayed into the tank through spray nozzles, bringing the temperature down to about -110°C to -130°C. Finally, the loading (filling) stage begins. At this point, the tank is ready to safely receive LNG, and the cargo is loaded through the filling lines. In simple terms, the process moves from removing moisture, to removing oxygen, to introducing gas, then cooling the tank, and finally loading the LNG.

The largest ship ever built. Jahre Viking, also known as Seawise Giant and Knock Nevis, stretched about 458 meters long and could carry over 560,000 tons. Too massive for the Suez or Panama Canal. From a supertanker to a floating storage unit, her life at sea was legendary.

Poseidon was probably angry 😡 yesterday. We ran into the kind of weather you don’t forget. It had been a long time since I last saw the ocean in this mood. The wind had passed, but what it left behind was a restless, angry sea. The swell was roughly 2 to 4 meters high. The ship was rolling heavily, tilting about 20–25 degrees off vertical, you can see it in the video. If to hold on to something tightly 😂 The wind was blowing at Force 9 on the Beaufort scale, a full gale, loud, and relentless. It’s been a long while since I faced weather like this. You only meet seas like this around this season, and when you do. I kind of miss it. Kindly follow me if you like contents like this. And on YouTube, I’ve been more intriguing contents:

This video allegedly shows the moment the bulk carrier Eternity C sank in the Red Sea, with the footage reportedly released by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. It is the second vessel lost within days. Just 24 hours earlier, the Magic Seas, another Greek-owned, Liberian-flagged bulk carrier, was also reportedly sunk after a violent Houthi attack. These back-to-back incidents mark the sharpest escalation in the region since early 2024, with at least four seafarers confirmed dead, several injured, and others allegedly taken hostage. The Houthis have reportedly declared that any vessel with past or present links to Israel is a target, a position analysts warn could put one in six commercial ships at risk. Seafarers navigating this route are now at extreme risk.

The best thing you’ll watch today 🚨 ‼️ Many of us have heard about Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and some of us may even use it as a source of energy. More commonly, we’re familiar with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), the cooking gas used in many homes. But have you ever wonder how these gases are transported? This video shows how they are carried across the seas on an LNG ship. Please retweet.
