Motion introduced today by BC Conservative MLA Mandeep Dhaliwal to recognize the 1984 Sikh Genocide was denied in the British Columbia Legislature run by the NDP. During the proceedings, MLA Dhaliwal raised a point of order after NDP Minister Lisa Beare shouted “gross” while he was seeking leave to introduce the motion. MLA Dhaliwal described it as an insult to the Sikh community and asked for an apology from Minister Beare for calling this motion “gross”. Following the objection, Minister Beare tried to clarify and withdraw her remark. (Watch the video and decide) The incident sparked criticism and renewed discussion around official recognition of the 1984 Sikh Genocide and the treatment of the motion in the BC Legislature.

He could have asked tough questions to Carney but he ignored. Canadian Sikhs are closely watching.
