Emily Thornberry has today said the government has let down the Palestinian people, and allowed Israel to act with impunity. The audacity. Here she is in October 2023 refusing to condemn Israel cutting off power and supplies to Gaza. Don’t let these people rewrite history.

A guest on Sky News, speaking about the Bondi Beach attack, draws a reckless and false parallel, suggesting “pro- Palestine rallies” and chants like “from the river to the sea” are clear calls to “kill Jews worldwide” The presenter does not push back. This is disgusting.

Gary Lineker: “I know where I stand —against the mass murder of thousands of children (in Gaza)…” When told the BBC must be impartial, he points out that it wasn’t on Ukraine. When told it all started on Oct 7, he rightly corrects it: “It started way before Oct 7…”

“This is what Iran’s rage looks like… the explosion flattened a school, a synagogue, homes and a bomb shelter… where dozens had sought refuge…” Reporting on Israel, Sky News discover how to describe emotively, vividly and categorically. Where was this for Gaza?

Sky News interviewed a Jewish protester about Netanyahu’s UN speech. “The genocide supporters like to point to October 7… this didn’t start 2 years ago… this is 70+ years of occupation… Israel is an apartheid, ethnonationalist state…” Conveniently, Sky News cut the feed.

I urge everyone to watch this report by Channel 4 News about Israel’s killing of Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil. “Under international humanitarian law, journalists are afforded the same protection as civilians… If that journalist has a particular sympathy with a particular cause, that doesn’t mean that protection is removed… … the IDF said the incident is under review. Don’t hold your breath…” Providing the necessary context and not taking Israel’s claims at face value. This is how every journalist should be reporting.
