Brian Windhorst believes Giannis WANTS to be in Miami: “The team to watch here is Miami. Miami would say ‘we got Tyler Herro who is a young player and been an All Star. We got draft picks including the 13th pick in this draft… And Giannis I think wants to be in Miami. There’s more check marks on Miami. I’m not sure Boston is ready to trade Jaylen Brown”

Shane Battier on Miami LeBron and why LeBron is the GOAT: “For as good as you think he was, he was that much better. I’m biased, but when people say LeBron or MJ, I say LeBron did something twice, that I don’t think Jordan could ever do once. He won two NBA titles with Shane Battier as his starting PF. I love Mike, one of the greatest of all time but LeBron did it twice with me as his bum ass PF….. The force, intelligence, he didn’t have a weakness when he was in his prime. There was no answer for him. He was like the Queen on the chess board. Could do everything.” (Via The Draymond Green Show)

Max Kellerman and Bill Simmons believe Miami LeBron is the CLOSEST thing we’ve seen to prime Michael Jordan Bill also believes the Heat’s 27 game win streak was more impressive than either two titles in Miami and we’ll never see it again Max says no player ever could take a lower group of players farther, than the Miami version of LeBron (Via Bill Simmons) 🔥

LeBron James feared that Pat Riley would break the Heat Big 3 up if he lost to the Celtics in Game 6, 2012: “My mentality was like, if we lose, Pat Riley may break us all up. And I don’t want that. It might be the quickest breakup in basketball history. Not only they might break it all up, my legacy going to take a huge, huge hit if I don’t go out here and perform at an all time high. Win lose or draw I had to be focused and lock in and lead us to victory. Didn’t know if it was going to happen that way but that was my mindset”

Greg Oden says him and Michael Beasley used to stay in and drink Hennessy on their off days with the Heat in 2014: “I was scared of the city. I gave myself one day of the week… I rarely went out…. I wasn’t going to f*ck this up. They just got two championships. I know y’all met with Beasley before and I don’t think he told y’all but sh*t when we had off days me and that MF sat in his house or my house just drinking bottles of Hennessy. We not going to get in trouble again. He already had his first stint here. And I was just happy to get another opportunity so I’m not going to f*ck this up. We ain’t gonna go out or be seen out.” (Via Pivot Podcast)

Patrick Beverly says he spoke with Giannis who was ‘Confused’ by Myles Turner claiming he shows up late to team planes: “I talked to Greek. I talked to Greek about it and Greek was confused. Greek was like ‘yo Pat, thanks for airing It out straight.” (Via Patrick Beverley)

Danny Green knew the Lakers would beat the Heat in game 6, because it’s not sustainable for the Heat to play at their peak every game: “Before the game I was like ‘we’re gonna get the next one. Everybody had that same confidence. They just ran out of gas. They’ve been playing at their peak potential as a group which you don’t get that from every person on the roster. You may have 2/3 guys peak or 3/4. It’s hard to have your full rotation of 8 guys playing their best basketball. They took us to 6. In 10 different series in 9 of those we probably win in 5 games.” (Via Bleacher Report)

Tim MacMahon says LeBron would also not win without Dwyane Wade, Kyrie Irving, and Anthony Davis in response to Rich Paul: “If you unplug Dwyane Wade from the Miami Heat, LeBron doesn’t win titles there. If you unplug Kyrie from the Cavaliers, they don’t come back 3-1. If you unplug Anthony Davis from the bubble Lakers, they don’t win a championship.”

Rich Paul believes it was GOD who stopped LeBron James and Dwyane Wade from winning the 2011 finals: “When they lost in 2011, we went to the Bahamas. D Wade, LeBron and I were talking about how they lost. I was just explaining to both of them like ‘I don’t know why we’re even having this conversation. You actually thought that God was going to allow you to win in that space that you were in? Pretending to be the Villain? You guys aren’t villains. You guys are great people. I know both of you! Hearts big as gold.’ I was like ‘he’s not going to do that because if he allows you to win in that mindset, then that’s who you become down the road.’” (Via Game Over)

Wes Goldberg GOES IN on Heat fans who are concerned about the depth after a Giannis trade: “The depth stuff, I DON’T CARE! What are we talking about? This team stinks! They didn’t make the playoffs! Give them all the depth they want. This depth isn’t good enough. I’m not going to haggle. I love Jaime, I love Kas, I love Kel’el, all those guys. Goodbye. See ya. We’re done here. Let’s do the Giannis thing. We can’t be worse with Giannis than we were without Giannis.” (Via Locked On Heat)

Rich Paul and Max Kellerman believe Dwyane Wade doesn’t get the respect he deserves: Rich: Let me tell you something about D Wade. I think people forgot how this guy was on the basketball court Max: Between Jordan’s last finals and LeBrons’ first great finals performance, the best finals performance by a non big, easily was Dwyane Wade in 2006. He was basically Michael Jordan that year. (Via Game Over)

Dwyane Wade on playing against White/International players: “From the community I’m from, if I see a white boy I’m like ‘oh I got him.’ I don’t know him at all. It’s just a perception that he’s not better than me. He can’t be better than me. You’ll hear a lot of African Americans speak from that space. From a basketball standpoint that was the thought. International players are soft. Then I played international basketball, and got my ass kicked. I was like ‘oh no, they’re SKILLED.’ Their game is tougher. Actually, it’s our game that’s softer” (Via SKWEEK YT)

Shams on Giannis: “At the end it was MIA, MIN, GS…. All those same teams you expect to be back in the mix and I think that’s what the Bucks are going through. The big question that’s going to come into play is which teams does Giannis want to give that long term commitment too? If a team is going to give up 3/4/5 1st round draft picks, two/three high level rotation players, swaps as well in a trade for Giannis, you better hope he’s going to be invested, motivated, and want to be there long term. Otherwise it shrinks your window. Really it depletes your ability to build a sustainable winner. So Milwaukee is trying to figure out which team is he willing to go to” (Via Shams Charania / FOX Sports Radio)

Chris Haynes on who will make the biggest splash this offseason: “Before, if you would have asked me this a week ago, I would have said Miami…..I just felt like this was the year that they really had to go for it all and get a big fish. And when I'm talking about a big fish, I'm talking about Giannis Antetokounmpo.” (Via Kevin O'Connor / h/t Heat Diehards)

James Harden’s meltdown in the playoffs has Patrick Beverly RETHINKING his Harden > Wade take 💀 “I made my statement I’m not going to re open that. It looks awful though. It has me looking completely awful. It has me looking like I don’t know what the hell im talking about. I can’t believe Beard did me like this…. Now I have to look at myself in the mirror like ‘is my feeling or comparing players, am I wrong?’ I have to look at it like ‘man Pat you was kinda off with that one.’ And that would be fair to say” (Via Patrick Beverley)

Grant Williams opens up on getting OWNED by Jimmy Butler in Game 2 of the ECF: “We’re up by 8, I’m playing well. Jimmy says ‘Hell nah, he ain’t here.’ So I hit the 3 and said ‘hell nah MF I’m here!’ — Next thing you know the next play Jimmy gets And 1. He says ‘I’M HERE TO MOTHERF*CKER!’ We’re going back and forth. I’m not backing down. That’s what we were missing in that series. They were punking us the entire time…. They ended up winning the game but if that doesn’t happen, nobody brings that up. No one says ‘poke the bear.’ — Jimmy knows it’s all love and we’re just competitors. We ended up losing that series.” (Via Run Your Race Podcast)
