MCCULLOUGH: ‘This Is Not 2008, This Is Far More Dangerous’⚠️ 🔊 “2008 was a story about Wall Street leverage, bad behavior, frauds. This one is far more dangerous. This one is about Main Street 🏡 It’s about 50%, going on 60% - 70% of Americans not having any money left and needing government handouts increasingly to offset that pressure. Needing more credit cards 💳 more leverage. If you’re paying 22% on a credit card, think about where you must be financially. "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL)? This is far more dangerous for far more people. This is a Main Street recession that we’re just entering. I don’t know how that’s going to end. I just know that Wall Street all agreeing to agree that this is going to be some 'soft' and beautiful landing because of 10 stocks is dead wrong.” -Keith McCullough on "The Macro Show" this morning Watch the full clip:

The Three Tailwinds Nobody's Pricing Into Nvidia 🔊 On Monday's edition of The Macro Show, Director of Research Daryl Jones Jonesy and $HGRO Portfolio Manager Sam Rahman Sam Rahman explained how a PM actually positions into a print like Nvidia's, $NVDA. As Rahman noted, he owns both Nvidia and Marvell, $MRVL — the only two semis currently on the signal strength list — but keeps his active Nvidia position small, with far bigger active weights in software names like Amazon, $AMZN and Microsoft, $MSFT. His approach into big benchmark events is not to overthink the positioning, because get on the wrong side of the news flow and you can get hurt badly. The number that frames the quarter, Rahman explained, is that Nvidia's data-center business has the potential to nearly double year-over-year, an extraordinary feat for a company its size: "Think about the size of this company doubling its core sales line year over year." Beyond the print, he flagged three tailwinds: 1. The transition from Blackwell to the faster, more efficient Vera Rubin chip, with hyperscaler orders already landing. 2. SpaceX emerging as a large, genuinely incremental new buyer of data-center infrastructure post-IPO. 3. A roughly 15% price increase on chips and servers next year, driven by memory-chip inflation, that flows straight to revenue. McCullough: No Recession—Rates Don’t Lie Markets can’t hide from the signals embedded in interest rates. 🔊 In this clip from The Macro Show, Hedgeye CEO Keith McCullough unpacks critical signals across the curve—each pointing to the same conclusion: the U.S. economy is accelerating. There’s no recession in sight. "We positioned for Quad 4 from February all the way to April. The Street started talking about a U.S. recession pending, which we did not," McCullough says. "Instead of entering a recession...credit risk continued to go down." That’s the key. While headlines warned of a slowdown, rates told a different story of acceleration, not recession. The yield curve steepened, credit spreads tightened—clear signals of a shifting market structure aligned with a strengthening economy. “We have a process to signal a recession…that is not it,” McCullough explains. “Paying attention to interest rates not only across the curve, inside of the shape of the curve—we’re long a steepener. I was adding to that on Friday too." Stay on top of the real macro signals by subscribing to "The Macro Show".
