This is an INSANELY PRODUCTIVE Hermes use case! 🔥 Imagine giving Hermes your project requirements and having it spin up an entire team of specialized bots, each with its own role and a model selected specifically for the job. That's exactly what tonbi demonstrates with his "HR Bot." He gives it a racing game project, and the bot figures out what specialists are needed, creates four separate bot profiles, assigns their responsibilities, writes their SOUL.md instructions, and selects models from those available. The benefits are pretty clear. Less time manually building and configuring agents, no need to figure out the entire team structure yourself, and each project gets bots tailored to the work that needs to be done. Really cool example of what's possible with Hermes Bot Mode.

You can literally train Hermes just by talking to it. 🔥 No digging through settings. No rewriting system prompts. If Hermes does something you don’t like, correct it using natural, everyday language and tell it to save that as a preference. Then start a completely fresh session. That preference can still be there. So instead of explaining the same formatting, writing style, workflow preference, or way you like something handled over and over, you can keep teaching Hermes as you use it. That’s the part I love about persistent memory. Your agent doesn’t have to start from zero every time the chat does.

Andrej Karpathy just gave one of the clearest explanations I’ve heard for how people should be thinking about their Hermes agents. Not one agent. All of them. “Remove yourself as the bottleneck.” That line is much bigger than better prompting. Karpathy is talking about arranging your agents so they can operate with less human intervention, keep work moving longer, and accomplish far more from the relatively small amount of direction you give them. That should be the direction you’re pushing every Hermes agent you build. Your research agent shouldn’t need you to tell it what to search next every five minutes. Your monitoring agent shouldn’t depend on you remembering to check something. Your content agent shouldn’t stop after step one when the rest of the workflow is already known. Your development agent shouldn’t need you sitting there approving every tiny action. That doesn’t mean blindly making everything autonomous. It means deliberately looking at every place where you are still unnecessarily sitting in the loop. Give the agent a clear objective. Give it the tools it needs. Give it the right Skills, memory, files and project context. Define the boundaries. Define what success looks like. Give it a reason to start working, whether that’s a schedule, an event, a recurring task or another agent handing work off to it. Most importantly, define what it can handle itself and what actually requires you. That’s the shift. You’re no longer just building something you can chat with. You’re building an operating workflow that can continue doing useful work after you walk away. Karpathy later puts the goal even more directly: get “more agents running for longer periods of time without your involvement.” That might be one of the best north stars you can use for a serious Hermes setup. Because the number of agents you have means almost nothing by itself. You can have 20 Hermes agents and still personally drive every single action. Or you can have five well-designed agents researching, monitoring, organizing, building and reporting while your attention is somewhere else. So instead of asking: How many Hermes agents can I build? Start asking this about every agent you already have: What am I still doing that this agent could be doing without me? That’s where the leverage starts.

Hermes can now log itself into websites without ever seeing your password. That’s a pretty big upgrade for browser automation. Real Profile already let Hermes use websites you were already signed into. This handles the other case: You’re not logged in yet. Hermes can now securely pull the login from: • Hermes’ encrypted local vault • 1Password • Bitwarden Then fill the credentials and sign in without exposing the raw password to the model or conversation. And it doesn’t stop when 2FA shows up. If your saved login has an authenticator key, Hermes can generate and enter the code automatically. If the site sends you a verification code by text, email, or app, Hermes gives you a secure prompt to enter it there instead of putting it in chat. The code never enters the conversation or model context. Passkeys, hardware keys, and approval taps still stay with you. Hermes waits for you to complete that step, then continues. So browser automation can now go from: “Please sign in” to actually getting through the login and continuing the workflow. Without handing your password or 2FA code directly to the model.

Over 90,000 Skills sitting inside Hermes Desktop is kind of insane!!!🤯 Did you know Hermes Desktop has a built-in Skills Hub with more than 90,000 Skills you can browse and add to an agent? And you can do it right from Desktop. Go to: Capabilities → Skills From there, open the Skills Hub under your installed Skills. You can: • search the catalog • browse by category or source • open any Skill to read what it does • review platform support, author, version, requirements, and docs • click + Add to this Agent to install it directly to the agent/profile you have selected That means if you want Hermes to get better at a specific type of work, you do not have to go hunting through repos or memorize install commands first. Just open the Hub, look through the catalog, inspect the Skill, and add it with one click. A lot of users still have no idea this is sitting inside Hermes Desktop.

Hermes Browser Extension v0.3.0 just landed. You already had a browser inside Hermes Desktop. Now flip it around. Bring Hermes into your browser. 💻 Open the side panel next to whatever you're doing and let Hermes work with the page you're already on. I used it inside Google Cloud while working through Gmail API setup. If you've spent any time in there, you know that is not exactly a friendly little website. Hermes handled it extremely well. Research a page. Work through complicated setup screens. Draft without leaving the site. Let Hermes help move through multi-step browser work without constantly bouncing back and forth. You can also switch between built-in themes, Light/Dark modes, or add your own custom theme. 🎨 Hermes, right where you're already working. Give Hermes the repo and ask it to help you set it up. komet💫 Killed it with this update 🔥 Repo link in the first reply⬇️

Okay, This is a big Hermes Desktop update 👀 Hermes can now actually use the Preview pane. Not just open a page. Not just read a page. Use it. Click. Type. Scroll. Navigate. Annotate. Inside the same visible browser pane you are watching. That is a big deal. It means Hermes Desktop is starting to feel a lot less like a chat window attached to tools and a lot more like an agent that can work through web tasks in front of you. Think about the use cases: → Open documentation and show you exactly where a setting lives → Walk through a setup flow and point out what to click → Search a site, open the right result, and keep moving → Work through a dashboard while you supervise → Annotate important controls on a crowded page → Reproduce a web issue step by step → Fill out multi-step web workflows with you watching → Find the right tutorial or guide and take you straight to it That changes the feel of Hermes Desktop. Because now Hermes is not just telling you what to do. It can show you, point to it, and act on it in the same workspace. This one opens up a lot!!!

Hermes just made its in-app browser a whole lot more useful. You can now keep multiple browser tabs open inside Hermes Desktop instead of every new page replacing the one you were already using. And that matters more than it sounds. Because this is not just about “having tabs.” It means Hermes can work across multiple pages without forcing you to keep losing your place every time you open the next thing. Research one source, keep it open, open another tab, compare them side by side, and keep moving. Check a few products before buying something. Look at multiple hotel or travel options at once. Keep a YouTube tutorial open in one tab while Hermes looks through docs or another page in the next. And because this lives inside Hermes Desktop, you are not limited to one basic browser view either. You can keep multiple tabs open. You can view two pages side by side. You can stack them top and bottom. You can even run a four-panel view when you want several pages open at once. So the browser inside Hermes is starting to feel a lot more like a real workspace instead of one page you keep replacing. There is also some nice polish that comes with it. Browser tabs now label themselves based on the page, and the address bar behaves more cleanly while pages are loading. And remember, this is the same in-app browser Hermes can already read, click through, type in, scroll, and annotate. So this is not just a prettier browser. It is a more capable workspace for the browser Hermes is actually using. If Hermes is going to do more of your work on the web, this is exactly the kind of browser upgrade it needed.

Hermes can get a second opinion before it acts. Or a third. Or a fourth. That’s essentially what Mixture of Agents does. Inside Hermes Desktop, you can choose several reference models to independently think through the same problem. Those models don’t run tools or take over the task. They act as advisors. Their responses are then passed to the Aggregator, which is the model that actually responds, uses tools, and continues the Hermes agent loop. You can even mix providers across the setup. So instead of relying on one model to reason through a difficult problem alone, your acting model can make the call after seeing several independent perspectives. This video shows how simple that setup is inside: Settings → Model → Mixture of Agents

Some of you are seriously sleeping on how much Hermes Desktop can already do. You can handle a ridiculous amount of the actual work without ever leaving the app. ✦ Work with the project and its files ✦ Preview the site or app beside the chat ✦ Let Hermes navigate, read, and click inside its own browser ✦ Visually annotate exact elements or regions ✦ Batch multiple requested changes back to the agent with precise DOM/CSS context ✦ Use the built-in terminal ✦ Review exactly what changed with Git diffs ✦ Stage, revert, commit, push, or open a PR ✦ Run worktrees for parallel branches ✦ Watch, steer, or stop delegated subagents while they work And that's just a few! Hermes Desktop is becoming a place where you can actually build, review, and manage the work without constantly bouncing between tools. Nice demo of the annotation workflow from witcheer 👏 Also, the eagle deserves some credit here 😂🦅

Hermes keeps finding ways to make agent work cost fewer tokens. And the latest cuts are automatic. Recent changes reduced recurring context overhead across several parts of Hermes: • Desktop’s model-facing UI tool schema dropped 41% • Memory and Skills guidance went from 537 to 255 tokens • Desktop’s always-served guidance was trimmed again • roughly another 727 tokens were removed from recurring platform and steering instructions That matters whether you use Hermes for coding, research, content, automations, business workflows, or long-running agent tasks. Every token spent explaining tools, Skills, memory, or platform behavior is context that isn’t being spent on your actual work. Hermes was already notably lean here. Composio recently put that to the test using the same K3 model across competing agent harnesses. Hermes came out among the strongest on completion while also posting the lowest average cost per task in their comparison. And the Hermes team clearly isn’t treating that as good enough. They continue cutting token waste across tools, Skills, memory, platform instructions, compression, and other parts of the agentic process. The goal is simple: more of your context goes toward the work you actually asked Hermes to do. Clip via Tom

OpenClaw 2.0 released today, and Alex Finn is already having some fun with the upgrade experience. 😂 And if there's anyone who knows his way around the latest agent tools and what they can actually do, it's Alex. He gets his hands on just about everything in this space. Perfect time for a Hermes reminder. Hermes is free and open source. You can download it and try it with free models without even needing an API key. It's deeply customizable, from the models you use to the tools, Skills, memory, routing, agents, workflows and everything around them. And the project moves fast. Users report bugs, ask for features, share what they're building, and Teknium 🪽, Brooklyn!, witcheer and the rest of the team are constantly turning that feedback into fixes and improvements. Hermes isn't some finished product sitting still. It gets better basically every day. Already using Hermes? Give it more of your real work. Haven't tried it yet? Download it for free and start breaking things. 😂 Then tell the team what worked, what didn't, and what you want next. You might just become the next change log. Video: Nous Research
