My breaking point was seeing an entitled little man throw a subway sandwich at a federal agent just doing his job. Our heroes need a shout out: Police, first responders, armed forces… the men and women in uniform who run towards danger are being treated with so little respect, so little gratitude, I think the world needs a reminder of what happens without these people protecting our safety. Are memories so short, that people forget the incredible bravery it took to run into the twin towers on 911, to drive through a hurricane to get people to safety? The same men and women that ran into burning buildings and joined a career whose job is to protect you are now being treated like the enemy. You have to think that the men and women who served on 9/11 are the same men and women that are being screamed at on the streets of New York “Free Palestine“ “No Kings” and told they are “pigs” or “monsters” all the wild defending those same people‘s rights to protest. Watch my latest confession for a reminder of what these people do for us every day.

WNC is hurting, FEMA is packing up, and I’m mad. I’ve been on calls all day with people who have slipped through the cracks. I wish I could blame somebody, but the truth is our infrastructure is not set up to handle disasters of this magnitude. I wish we could blame one person or even one organization, but the truth is the entire system has failed us. The good news, humanity, in my eyes, is stronger than I ever could’ve imagined.

WNC is hurting, FEMA is packing up, and I’m mad. I’ve been on calls all day with people who have slipped through the cracks.
