I was born in Ashtown, Kumasi. Many years ago, that durbar ground where the funeral was held was a football park. We used to play "gala" with the hausas living in Asawase and Akwatia Line. Those games were Shaolin soccer. It's either your leg is broken or you break another's. On Sundays, we casually saw the King attend mass at the St. Anne's Anglican Church. Very very humble personality! Nana Sei-Tu Nyamekese... Nana nya nkwa daaaaa. Down that Manhyia street is Apagyahene fie, family house of ex-President Kuffuor. This small town has given Ghana some of the best brains, including the late Dr. Thomas Mensa, who was one of the inventors of fibre-optics. When you grow up in Ashtown, there are two things involved. You either become extremely successful or flip to the other side. There's no middle ground. It was the real "street". Ashtown is like the City of London. It is the historic core of Kumasi and where Asante ingenuity is held.

I have no further comment on the DSTV issue. My work is done. It has become clear to the Ghanaian public that the Minister's handling of the matter was misinformed, and I anticipate he will be a prime candidate in the first cabinet reshuffle. Ultimately, this has been a massive win for DSTV. I saw it and I tried to stop it, but the WhatsApp group members wouldn't let me. Politico-narcissism Dstv would have paid a million dollars for this level of marketing. Anyway!
