Anyone else following the DARPA Lift Challenge? $6.5M in prize money to build a drone that can: - Stay under 55 lbs - Take off with a 110 lb minimum payload (4x its weight) - Fly 4 nautical miles loaded (12 laps) - Drop the payload - Fly 1 more nautical mile empty (3 laps) - Finish inside a 30-min window Top 3 teams split the full prize as long as they clear the 4:1 ratio. Most heavy-lift drones can barely lift their own weight. DARPA wants 4x. That's never been done.

Saw a lot of old people and families struggling outside my office window yesterday. Cut 2 crosswalk paths with @prestonxpalmo (he made this video). Then Casey Neistat sent us photos and said Zohran walked through the path 🤣

Today's leader/heaviest flight of the DAPRA challenge was Xtreme Aerial Concepts However, the chyron changed weights, and I'm not sure if they had a 141.9 lb payload or a 166.9 lb payload. Believe it was 141.9 lb, which would put them in first overall for the challenge.

It's worth noting that the heaviest flown lift was this flight test/demonstration from Xtreme Aerial Concepts, who stated in an interview that they were happy to take 3rd and not risk crashing what they built 54.3 lb drone 201.9 lb payload Only team to lift 200 lb+

The same dude in this photo is back out causing issues with the police. None of these people add any positive value to Canal St or NYC. I was leaving the post office and saw it go down. Cop takes the weed he's selling on the sidewalk, and everyone swarms. Canal St is a joke

If DefendTex can pass the DARPA course, they will likely win Their drone is 12lbs with a 112 lb payload weight (9.63:1) The top teams don't want to crash out of competition before graded runs, so there are a lot of test flights

You're telling me both neighborhoods that burned to the ground in Los Angeles had their maps magically reverted to pre-burn satellite images while both were labeled 2026 at the bottom? not believable. Even the new "update" forces you to zoom all the way in as close as possible

insane level of manipulation from Google If you search for Pacific Palisades, they are using old map data and labeling it as 2026. If you go to the historical data, you can see the receipts

Xtreme Aerial Concepts increased its ratio successfully to 3.31:1. They are still in 2nd place. 54.9 lb drone 181.9 lb payload What's most impressive is watching the fuel tank; they had a lot of fuel left over, and they started with 3/4 of a tank
