“No, I’m not ready yet. The time will be right. Let them enjoy the week and we’ll see where we go from there.” Connor Hellebuyck still not ready to share his Winnipeg Jets thoughts post Heritage Classic. My read: he’s saving it for return trip on Nov 10 when NJD play in Wpg.

“I can’t speak to anyone else’s experience but I love playing in Canada. I’m a Canadian boy who loves playing in Canada. Feel very blessed to play in Winnipeg..” Jets top centre Mark Scheifele asked about trend of players heading south. Media:

“If I could have one thing more it would be for the Winnipeg Jets to win the next Stanley Cup.” Stanley Cup champion and former Jets bench boss Paul Maurice

Logan Stanley’s grin as Trent Frederic waves the white flag. I missed 64 saluting the crowd with his helmet as he went to the room.

“….for me it’s important to talk about the Winnipeg Jets that are here and don’t really need to focus on guys who are not here.” Nino Niederreiter wasn’t particularly interested in discussing the Connor Hellebuyck situation. Full media:

“I just want to make people smile. It’s cool the power that thing has and what it can do for people…” A Stanley Cup champion only gets so much time with the Cup. Seth Jarvis began his day by bringing it to the Children’s Hospital of Winnipeg. Watch:

When the Celebrity look-a-like is actually the celebrity….. And David Harbour out there in the Winnipeg crowd crushing beers. David Harbour

Jamie Benn propelled his fist into Mark Scheifele’s face knocking down 55 and the linesman. He just got the gate and fans cheer him down then tunnel.

“….that’s what I love so much about Winnipeg and why I always come back home. You can’t replace this. You can’t replace home. It’s just amazing.” First person in line to meet Stanley Cup champ Seth Jarvis arrived at 5:30 AM (doors opened at 1 PM) Watch:

“He was playing beer league hockey today so he was in a hurry home to watch my game....” Jets prospect Alfons Freij (2024 2nd) speaking about his dad back home in Sweden watching his son’s first ever AHL game with the Moose in Winnipeg. More to come on

After spending 6 seasons (mostly) with the Sabres & 7 total with organization, Jacob Bryson has yet to play a playoff game. Buffalo is poised to end its long playoff drought — just as he moves on. He spoke about that but also his new opportunity. Watch:

“I spent almost every day I could here….when I was younger they gave me the keys to this place…” Stanley Cup champion Seth Jarvis on his childhood home rink (Tuxedo) in Winnipeg. Called them “a massive part of the reason I am where I am today”. Watch:

Tyrel Bauer gets challenged to a tilt in his first game back since injury and he answers the bell (and then rings it). #AHL #MBMoose

Pretty sure the cheers from Winnipeg were pretty, pretty, pretty loud when Seth Jarvis scored the Game 2 OT GWG.

First pro game First pro goal Parker Ford gets his first in the AHL.

Jets goalie prospect Thomas Milic told us he snagged 5 Tyrel Bauer bobbleheads for his family back home in B.C. That earned him a clap from the Albertan who was walking past. The two go back to their time in junior together with Seattle. Recap:

All aboard the Logan Stanley playoff train. What a massive hit by 64.

HOW DID HE MISS THAT

Parker Ford scored in his first ever AHL game. Parker Ford scored in his first ever NHL game.

One thing most folks don’t know about Tyrel Bauer is he can punch equally hard with his left or right hand. They do now.

“I loved being in Winnipeg. This was the dream there. I’m obviously sad I wasn’t able to do that with the guys in Winnipeg and the city of Winnipeg. They hold a special place in my heart..” Nikolaj Ehlers gets emotional discussing the impact of Winnipeg on his career.

Also not sure I’ve ever seen a fight replay but they did it in Chicago as Tyrel Bauer had quite the tilt with Yanick Turcotte in the opening period of play. #AHL

“Never was in shape.” Former #NHLJets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien when asked if he’s in shape for the Alumni Game in October. 😂 The man known as Big Buff was participating in the Kenora Bass International over the weekend. More from 33:

Just thinking out loud, but could Brayden Yager be the key to unlocking Viggo Björck and Gabriel Vilardi on the Jets’ 2nd line? Yager and Björck seemed to have chemistry during training camp, and the 2023 1st rounder has been at another level in the AHL this season.

“.. My thought process is I made a commitment here and I'm here to ride it out for good or for bad. That's not a diss on him or anybody else…that's just my personal viewpoint towards life…” Gabriel Vilardi on still believing Jets can win. Full media:

Here’s 30 seconds of Viggo Björck doing stuff at Jets Development Camp as Viggomania continues to grip Winnipeg.

This tilt between Jeffrey Viel and Alex Gallant = Dear Mama

“I felt for him. I've met him. He's a great guy. I just felt sad.….. I mean, that's the whole point of mental health, is sit down and listen, just talk to the guy, don’t speculate, don’t attack…” Connor Hellebuyck on Linus Ullmark. Watch:

Tyrel Bauer fights just hit differently as he and Montana Onyebuchi engage in a huge tilt to start this game.

The first time Winnipeg fans chanted “Stuuuu” it was for Mark Stuart back in 2011 when the Jets returned to Winnipeg. Stuart Skinner was asked if he sought any advice from the original “Stuuu,” who coached him in Edmonton. Full media:

Cole Perfetti was heading to lake with his parents as his Seadoo lift had broken when his agent called saying deal was close. Said getting news with his parents was awesome. Funny line Carter Brooks: “guess you get yourself a new Seadoo lift now”. Media:

“I’m really glad that we picked Viggo (Björck). I was hyped back home”. Jets prospect Alfons Freij sees no issues with Finni-Peg becoming Swede-Peg! Full media:

A big day for Tyrel Bauer, who has made the Jets’ opening roster for first time in his pro career. I spoke with a number of his Moose teammates today, and every one of them was excited at the prospect of the big Albertan playing his first NHL game soon.

A heavy and I mean heavy, all offence and no defence tilt between Tyrel Bauer and Alex Gallant.

It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last time that Tyrel Bauer and Yanick Turcotte drop the gloves. Just tough as nails.

Who knew that Kyle “Frickin” Connor had acting chops. Pretty entertaining promo video for the Jets winger’s collab with KFC. More:

Over at the World Championship, Jets defenceman Ville Heinola was picking corners He fired home a pair of goals for Finland.

Another memorable Michael Hutchinson moment came in the first ever Matthews vs. Laine showdown, when he made a clutch overtime save to keep the game alive seconds before Patrik Laine completed his first NHL hat trick.
