TW: death threat, profanity. This is is one example of a death threat that came into my office this week. These threats increase whenever Republicans put a target on my back. They can continue to target me, but they will never stop me from fighting for a more just world.

Trump’s goal is to intimidate me and get me to back down. That’s not going to happen. I will not be silenced, and I will not stop fighting for my constituents.

There's no reforming this rogue and monstrous agency. The only way forward: Abolish and prosecute ICE.

I think of war through the lens of someone who survived one. It means displacement and irreversible trauma. The continued war with Iran will mean more death, more suffering, and more chaos. End the war.

It is disgusting that Trump’s hateful words of calling Somali Americans “garbage” have continued to go unchecked by members of the Republican Party. These are US citizens he is denigrating. We have a duty as Americans to call out his hateful rhetoric.

I became a proud DFLer because I saw something special here. We show up for our neighbors. We organize for the future. We fight for the values that make this country great. Let’s keep fighting like hell for the country we love.

The difference between the president and I is that I was raised to be a decent human being, and my faith teaches me to have compassion. He lacks both of those things.

Africa’s future is our future. Honored to have hosted the CBC ALC Africa Braintrust panel to discuss innovation on the continent. As the only African-born member of Congress, I’m proud to work to ensure Africa's future is inclusive and built for the people.

Trump thought he could intimidate Minnesotans and that we would react with riots. Instead, we showed up with compassion, resilience, and strength. We showed the country what real resistance looks like.

It’s a dark day in America when a sitting Member of Congress has to remind the president that Black people are not apes. I stand with Al Green.

I had the honor of seeing the Columbia University anti-war encampment firsthand. Contrary to right-wing attacks, these students are joyfully protesting for peace and an end to the genocide taking place in Gaza. I’m in awe of their bravery and courage.

#HappyNewYear Twitter, it’s been a minute. They said, “go back to where you came from”. So I decided to take it literally + I have to say the last 2 weeks in Somalia were incredible 🤗 Grateful for the hospitality, I am rested and rejuvenated and ready to be sworn in tomorrow.

From refugee camp to Congress, I represent the American dream and that pisses Trump off. He’s going to have to deal with it. 💅🏽

Operation Metro Surge is state-sanctioned racial profiling used as a tool of political intimidation. But Somali Minnesotans aren’t intimidated, we’re brave and resilient, and our neighbors have our back. We don’t cower to bullies.
