SOUND ON 🔊🛸 Two pilots flying over Ohio spotted something they couldn’t identify and contacted Cleveland air traffic control for answers 👀 According to the National UFO Reporting Center, the private charter crew encountered a silver, pill-shaped object near Tiffin on August 16. They described it as standing upright with no visible wings or engines, and one pilot managed to photograph it. The pilots contacted Cleveland Center, but controllers reportedly had no corresponding radar contact. Their jet’s collision-avoidance system also showed no nearby traffic matching the object. NUFORC says investigators found no matching radar return or planned balloon launch that explained the encounter, although a balloon has not been definitively ruled out. What do you think they saw? Cleveland City Council voted Monday to rename the stretch of Lake Erie along the city’s shoreline the “Gulf of Cleveland,” extending two miles offshore 🌊 The resolution is a political response to Trump’s renaming of the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario, and calls for Apple and Google to recognize the name on their maps. What do you think of the move?

Aries Spears is beefing with Cleveland again. He shared this video and added his own caption taking shots at the city. This isn’t the first time he’s gone at Cleveland either. After a past show, he said he was “retiring” from performing here, claiming the crowd didn’t respond well and that the energy felt off. He’s also previously referred to Cleveland as “America’s toilet bowl.”

A Cleveland fan (Joe Oravec) asked Derek Jeter what he thought about playing in Cleveland, from Jacobs Field to the city’s nightlife and restaurants. Jeter said he never went out, but one memory has always stuck with him: hitting a home run on Opening Day at Jacobs Field and never getting the ball back because the fan who caught it kept it. Jeter had nothing but praise for Cleveland’s baseball atmosphere. He recalled the sold-out crowds, the great Cleveland teams of the late ‘90s and early 2000s, and said it was “a fun place to play” and that he always enjoyed coming to Cleveland. 🎥 Joe Oravec

Lake Erie's western basin is basically the Goldilocks zone for giant mayfly swarms. Strictly freshwater, shallow enough to warm up fast, and big enough to produce numbers that lead to accumulations of bugs that require shoveling. All these conditions coming together in one place is why this lake produces the most extreme mayfly hatches on the entire planet - up to 87.9 billion in a single night, thick enough to show up on weather radar. Lots of mayflies is a sign of a healthy lake. The were nearly wiped out from the 1950s through the 90s when the lake was polluted. Now they're back with a vengeance and clearly making up for lost time.
