Benchmarks will tell you GPT-6.1 Sol is the cheapest model by far. If you are on a subscription this is not the case. Sonnet 5.5 is currently the leader for the most usage on a $20 plan from my tests. Sol 6.1 is closely behind Sonnet 5.5 followed by Opus 5.5 and Astra 6. Usage is now great in Sol 6.1 but Sonnet 5.5 is still the leader

Something is wrong at OpenAI. Tibo and Sam said GPT-6.1 Sol would be faster today. Instead it appears to be running slower. Sonnet 5.5 and Opus 5.5 are much faster than Sol 6.1 and Grok 4.7 Check out the below comparison, same prompt on high reasoning with a 20 minute deadline.

The Houthis in Yemen were struck tonight by the most expensive aircraft to ever fly, the B-2 bomber. The United States sent the B-2 from Missouri to Yemen and must have had good reason to maintain stealth. Now that the B-2 has been deployed to the Middle East don’t be surprised in we see it again in the near future.
