The petrodollar runs through a chokepoint the United States can no longer credibly protect, defended by interceptor systems now operating without their primary radar, restocked by a Raytheon production line that makes 37 THAAD interceptors a year. 3,200 ships are sitting idle. European gas is up 50% and climbing fast. A global recession is no longer a forecast — it’s a Wednesday. The Gulf monarchs who rented their soil to Washington are watching their ports burn and their pipelines get threatened while the Navy says it needs more time. One missile just changed everything. CENTCOM called the Lincoln claim a “LIE.” That’s also exactly what they said on March 1. And March 7. And March 13. Three denials. One ship that’s no longer in the region. Then it rushed into NATO, doubled the alliance’s frontier with Russia, and suddenly Helsinki is building fences and hosting NATO troops. This of course was never about “defending” Finland. It was about turning a peaceful neighbor into a frontline provocation. Natural consequences don’t hand out one sided security guarantees. They hand out front row seats to the very confrontation you claimed you were avoiding. Finland of course didn’t buy peace and there was never the point beyond the ridiculous sales pitch. What it did buy is a frontline ticket and Russia just reminded everyone who actually controls the neighborhood.

This is lunacy in the extreme. Russia has a nuclear posture which clearly states that when its critical nuclear infrastructure is placed under threat, to include nuclear threat or conventional threat, that this warrants a threat of existential nature that can legitimately give Russia the green light to use their nuclear weapons in response. Russians aren't bluffing. They don't bluff. The Russians are highly responsible. They have a very mature posture and very mature leadership.bVladimir Putin's been in power for 25 years. Ritter argues that Kay's statement protects the Bush Administration from allegations that it misled the public in regard to Iraq's weapons capabilities. While Kay places the blame on the the intelligence community, an interpretation Bush has also embraced, Ritter claims that the fault lies in how the scant evidence meant to justify a war was interpreted. "We knew the truth about Iraq's WMD. Sadly, no one listened," says Ritter.
