The students were celebrating a Sukkot event organized by AUJS, and there were no Israeli flags nor even hostage ribbons. The antisemitism is clear, with the woman targeting the group solely because they were Jewish, using Nazi-esque dehumanizing language, invoking the medieval blood libel of the Jew as “baby killer,” and casting doubt on the Jews’ semitic origins. But what makes all of this even worse? The perpetrator was reportedly a University of Sydney staff member. She has been suspended pending further assessment. 🤯
