There are moments in your life that don't feel important until you look back and realize everything changed because of them. For me, one of those moments came in 2015. Eventually, I stopped pretending I was okay. I admitted I had a problem. I asked for help. And I went back to treatment. Recovery didn't magically happen in that one moment. There was still work ahead of me. But I finally chose to give myself another chance. If you're waiting for a sign to tell someone what's really happening, maybe this is it. (888) 464-2144

There was a lot happening behind the scenes in Italy that nobody watching at home knew. By that point, my addiction had escalated significantly. I brought pills with me overseas, and when they ran out, I began experiencing withdrawal while we were filming. Millions of people were watching “The Situation.” Very few knew what Mike was actually going through. I look back at that version of myself now and see someone who desperately needed help, even if he wasn't ready to admit it yet. Your lowest chapter doesn't have to be your last one. (888) 464-2144

I had everything people think they want. The money. The fame. The lifestyle. And I was still miserable. Underneath it all, I was exhausted, anxious, depressed, and slowly losing myself. When everything finally fell apart, I was left with one choice: keep going down the same road or fight for my life. So I chose to try. Not halfway. Not someday. Everything I had. And that decision changed everything. If you're struggling right now, don't count yourself out. Your comeback could start with one decision, too. (888) 464-2144

Addiction didn’t only affect me. My family lived through it too. My mom watched me struggle for years, never knowing what addiction would take from me next. In 2015, at one of my lowest points, I was alone about to use heroin when she called. She had no idea what I was doing. She just had a bad feeling and needed to know I was okay. That moment has stayed with me throughout my recovery. Getting sober gave me the chance to rebuild the relationships addiction had damaged, to show up differently as a son, and eventually become a husband and father myself. Today, those experiences are part of why the work we do at The Archangel Centers means so much to me. I know what addiction does to the person struggling, but I’ve also seen what it does to the people who love them. Recovery gave my mom her son back. And I’ll never take that for granted. If you or someone you love is struggling, we’re here to help. (888) 464-2144

If I could sit across from myself at my lowest point, I'd tell him to hold on. I'd tell him that one day he'd marry the love of his life. He'd become a father. He'd find his faith, his peace, and a purpose bigger than himself. And I'd tell him that the story he desperately wanted to hide would one day become the story he uses to help other people find their way out. Hold on. Ask for help. Give yourself the chance to meet the person you can still become. The comeback is always greater than the setback. (888) 464-2144

I've made mistakes. I've relapsed. I've lost things. I've disappointed people I loved. I've had moments where my future looked nothing like the life I dreamed about. But none of those chapters got to decide how my story ended. Nearly 11 years into recovery, I know that redemption is real. You can rebuild. You can change. You can become someone you're proud of. Don't let where you are today convince you that this is where you have to stay. The comeback is always greater than the setback. (888) 464-2144
