Members of Parliament from the JKNC - Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and Gurwinder Singh Oberoi - today visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi and signed the condolence book on the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Spiritual and Supreme Leader of Iran. During their visit, they met the Ambassador of Islamic Republic Of Iran to India, Dr. Mohammad Fathali and expressed deep anguish and profound sorrow over the tragic assassination of the revered leader and also conveyed condolences on behalf of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Party President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, to the Government and people of Islamic Republic Of Iran. They also strongly condemned the unilateral and barbaric attack carried out by the United States and Israel on a sovereign nation, stating that such actions are in clear violation of international law and pose a serious threat to peace and stability in the region. They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and for lasting peace and stability in the region.

A meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Legislature Party was held today at the Banquet Hall, Srinagar, under the chairmanship of Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah. JKNC Vice President and Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also attended the meeting. Six MLAs of the Indian National Congress also joined the meeting as part of the deliberations ahead of the forthcoming Assembly session. The meeting was convened ahead of the Autumn Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, scheduled to commence tomorrow. The legislators deliberated on the forthcoming session, the legislative business to be taken up, and various issues of public importance. Dr. Farooq Abdullah called upon the legislators to remain closely coordinated and ensure that the concerns and aspirations of the people are effectively raised in the House. He stressed the importance of constructive participation and focused engagement on matters concerning the people. The members also deliberated on issues relating to public welfare, development and governance, besides discussing the priorities to be taken up during the session. The meeting underscored the importance of coordinated participation by the party legislators in the proceedings of the Assembly.
