Bobbi and Lethabo’s storyline is a true reflection of how some women are simply placeholders for the next best woman to come into the picture. They learned to live and love each other from high school and had a son, which sort of bound them together forever. Bobbi knew he wasn’t in love with Lethabo, but Lethabo was deeply in love with him. In the 16 years they were together, he could have easily sealed the deal by marrying her, but he knew she wasn’t the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Ndumi coming into the picture doesn’t necessarily mean she broke up their relationship; rather, she represented the change Bobbi needed. Even if it wasn’t Ndumi, Bobbi would have eventually married someone else. Their chaotic situation makes so much sense because Lethabo gave up her whole life to be Bobbi’s girlfriend and potentially his wife, while Bobbi is unfortunately exploding years later after pretending to be in love with her. It’s a sad storyline, but if you think about it, it’s quite common in many parts of the world, where some women have been girlfriends for decades and have even started acting like official wives, hoping that marriage will eventually happen. #TheFourofUs
