Buyer did a sewer scope on a flip I'm selling and found tree root invasion at two spots in the service line. They put it on their Amendment to Address Concerns during due diligence. Knew it was something I had to repair, regardless who I sold to, so got quotes. My go-to plumber: $2,600 Another plumber contact: $7,500 Buyer's agent's plumber contact: $6,255 Went with my go-to. Team of 5 and a mini-ex knocked it out in one day. Materials were basically nothing (~30' of 4" PVC and fittings) $2,600 was a fair price for this job. Wild how most plumbers get away with charging these astronomical prices to people who don’t know better.
