The Chargers did not sign a cornerback in free agency and did not select one in the seven rounds of the NFL Draft. Could they still add to the position between now and Week 1? Yes. However, I believe they have a lot of confidence in former UDFA CBs, Nikko Reed and Eric Rogers to step up, going into their second year. In 2025, Reed finished the preseason with a 91.1 coverage grade, allowing only 3 receptions on 10 targets and recorded a pick six. Additionally, he appeared in five regular season games and had a terrific pass deflection. Rogers, became only the second corner since 2023 to not allow a reception on more than five targets in a preseason game, while also recording two interceptions (one for TD).
