The assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar is not just a Canada-India issue, it's a global one. As America and other Five Eyes allies give Canada support, we are looking at the tip of the iceberg as far as geopolitical fallout goes for this Indian aggression and crime. WSO

No country can have a good faith relationship with India. Today marks a significant shift for not only India-Canada relations, but the way the world will see the tyrannical Indian govt. Killing Sikh Canadians on Canadian soil is an affront to our rights & international law.

We put all of India's forms of transnational repression against Sikh Canadians on the public record. I was honoured to be given the opportunity by WSO, OGC, & BCGC at the Public Inquiry on Foreign Interference to do so. The response has been tremendous. Here's the full video.

Sikhs in Canada, and across the diaspora, are watching the suppression of civil & democratic rights in Punjab with 3 general things in mind. Worry for loved ones, further proof that minorities have no rights in India, & how countries like Canada must shape their foreign policy.

While diasporic Sikhs are banned from visiting their most sacred spaces in Punjab for speaking on issues not controversial within the Sikh community but deemed unacceptable by the Hindu Nationalist Indian state, Boardman, a disinfo monger, freely goes for a political stunt. A glaring example of how Sikhs are (mis)treated in India. I spoke about this very thing during my testimony at the Foreign Interference Inquiry. I do pray that Bordman left our Guru's house with some blessed introspection, & not just a rage baiting tweet. Maybe he also visited the Sikh Central Museum or the memorial to our Shaheeds there, including Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. India bans Sikhs from entering Punjab for a whole host of reasons by the way. Not just for advocating for Sikh self determination. Diasporic Sikhs who speak about human rights issues, India's democratic backsliding, or the 1984 Sikh Genocide all face Indian visa bans from visiting their ancestral homes and religious sites. Mock Sikhs all you want, Bordman, but I hope the Guru guides you away from the evil of ego and hubris you displayed here at the gate of his blessed home. In chardi kala 🙏🏽

From transnational repression to conventional warfare, why does India keep losing narrative wars? It's because of their reputation as shameless disinfo mongers. Both their cringe mainstream media & infamous IT cells openly brag about spreading lies to further self interests. What are the long term impacts of this? People start tuning you out. You attract scrutiny. Everyone doubts everything you say. You have zero credibility. Zero journalistic standards (which is also why India ranks 151/180 on RSF's press freedom index). You become a joke. Low IQ takes won't cut it on the world stage. May work in certain corners of India, like the Cowbelt region, but makes you look foolish everywhere else. India's social media accounts, namely its BJP IT Cells, have also burned every bridge possible, and attract mockery on all things India. These guys self goal all the time. It's really sad, to be honest. And who are India's allies really, anyways? Who's amplifying and supporting India's narratives? The Global South? Not really. Burned too many bridges and China is eating their lunch. The West? The flip flopping on Ukraine-Russia + transnational repression against the influential and successful Sikh diaspora have made India untrustworthy in most rooms. India is a large market but its infrastructure is terrible and the vast majority of its population is disenfranchised, poor, and neglected. They just aren't the global power they make themselves believe they are. Lots of reasons for India's inability to win narratives internationally. And only India is to be blamed for that.
