Imagine you live somewhere for 70 yrs, and then one day, this horrendous monstrosity shows up next door, pumping continuous, obnoxious noise into your home, at all hours of the day and night. Tech bros will dismiss this issue, but I guarantee you if it happened in their neighborhoods, they would move heaven and earth to shut it down. #datacenters

For the many people that have asked who the familiar CNBC face in the PTJ clip was... c'mon, man! Bill Griffeth, arguably the GOAT of financial news broadcasting. The clip was from when he was the lead anchor at FNN, which got bought out by NBC in 1991 and merged into CNBC.

Really cool moment -- Scott Galloway is interviewing Sam Harris and gets his mind blown when the conversation veers and he finds out who Sam's mom is. One of the greatest TV writers of all time, creator of all the shows that Scott (and many of us) grew up watching!

Found more info on one of the new data centers in TX riling up the community. MARA, mining BTC. Crazy part is, these people live next to a massive nuclear plant on the other side. And no gripes, b/c it's a fine neighbor. But this thing is horrendous--enough to radicalize any homeowner. Texas needs to change course, otherwise it's going to become a dumping ground for the rest of the country's garbage. Build this crap near the people getting rich off of it in Los Altos--not in Texas. Poor lady, have to feel sorry for her. Can't sell now--who would be stupid enough to buy?

"Nature abhors an undiversified bet" Related to Kris' poll results below, here's a talk from MIT's Andrew Lo in which he elegantly works through an evolutionary explanation for the puzzle of probability matching. Technical at certain points, but he goes on to make it intuitive.

Cliff Cornell Not everyone thought it was a bubble, but plenty did. I would say more than today, but it's hard to draw conclusions from that, since fundamental measures were offering a clearer surface-level signal of the excesses then. Here's a clip from Dec 30th, 1999, to give you a feel:
