Labour MP for Rugby & the villages | I don’t respond to cases via social media | Please email me or call my office for an appointment

Myth: MPs get their home bills paid. Reality: I pay my own mortgage and bills in Rugby. When Parliament requires me in London, rent for the flat is covered, same as any worker required away from home. I pay for my own food.

Well said Bridget Phillipson on Laura Kuenssberg on how disturbing it is “to question people’s British identity on the basis of their skin colour.” The question was in response to Rishi Sunak’s excellent recent The Times and Sunday Times article. We must confront racism.

There is a human being at the heart of this story, and that matters more than the story. Keir Starmer put the country first at the G7 last week, then went straight back to the day job. He walks towards the problems, not away. We owe him the decency of remembering that.

When the hype dies down, the problems in Number 10 remain the same for whoever holds the office. Keir Starmer is already governing through them. Stabilised the economy, invested in our public services, and he walks towards the problems, not away.

260 people died from drink-driving last year. Nigel Farage called lowering the limit "absolutely ridiculous." In Parliament, I challenged his comments. Those 260 families deserve better than dismissal. Watch the clip.

My view: Labour must avoid a return to the chaos of leadership challenges that we saw under the Conservatives. We should get behind the PM to deliver a more prosperous and fairer country.

We're not choosing the captain of a tiddlywinks club. We're choosing a Prime Minister. Anyone who wants that office should face real scrutiny and set out a vision for the whole country. The public deserve nothing less.

Sport gets a bulletin every hour. Culture barely gets a mention. This week I introduced a Bill in the Commons to change that. A regular cultural news bulletins, alongside the sport. Add your name 👇

I'd done the maths on Nigel Farage's weekend: 23 hrs in his private jet 🛫 12 hrs on the ground 🚶 And that's the man of the people? Meanwhile, the Reform candidate in Gorton and Denton gets Tommy Robinson's endorsement instead. Says it all.

Did you know you can visit Parliament without an invitation and ask to speak to me? Just go to Central Lobby, ask for your MP, and I'll make every effort to come and meet you. It's your right and my privilege to serve you this way.

We didn't put "Ego First" on our Labour membership cards. We put "Country First." Labour MPs should unite behind Keir Starmer, not fuel leadership speculation. Our country needs stability, not a return to Tory chaos.

Just come from the King's Speech. You'll have heard a lot about personality politics lately. Today is about the politics of delivery. Keir Starmer is getting on with the job and I support him wholeheartedly. Take a look at the measures here:

Baroness Amos's report says obstetric consultants and anaesthetists should be on delivery units 24/7. Mothers and babies must come before rota vested interests.

My question today in PMQs on how Reform UK MP confirmed at the weekend what we all suspect: they seem to favour a private insurance system for our NHS. Labour created the NHS and we’ll defend it from these threats. My constituents deserve better.

People want stability, not constant political drama. Last week, everyone said Starmer was finished. I went on GB News and said he'd come out stronger. Yesterday, the PM confirmed exactly that. Stable government means your priorities get heard.

Speculation about Andy Burnham’s return & a leadership challenge is bad for Labour & more importantly, the country. We should back the Prime Minister Keir Starmer as he leads the team delivering renewal for our county.

I've headed back to Parliament this week to fight for what matters: cutting bills, investing in our NHS, lifting kids out of poverty. Let's reject division and decline. Let's build a Britain for all.

New £100,000 limit on overseas donations to UK political campaigns from today. Our elections should be decided by the people who live with the consequences, not by foreign financial influence. Democracy belongs to the voters it serves.
