Amanda Daniels was better at Hollywood than Ari Gold. Yeah, I said it. Carla Gugino’s Amanda was one of the only people on Entourage who could consistently go toe-to-toe with Ari without getting rattled. She was Vince’s agent, Ari’s biggest professional rival, and eventually became romantically involved with Vince. She understood the business, played the game and never needed Ari’s volume to make her point. And Carla Gugino’s real life is just as interesting. She was legally emancipated at 16, was a high-school valedictorian, and had a wildly unconventional childhood — at different points she lived in a teepee and a van in Big Sur. She’s also been with writer/director Sebastián Gutiérrez since 1996, and the two have collaborated on multiple projects. By the time she showed up on Entourage, she’d already been in Spy Kids and Sin City — and would go on to star in Watchmen, San Andreas, Gerald’s Game and The Haunting of Hill House. Amanda Daniels deserved way more screen time. Ari vs. Amanda was one of the best rivalries on the entire show.
