Lewis Hamilton posted a video telling the world that Since Kim Kardashian came into my life, she has had a huge influence on the way I see my career. 🌟 I have turned down an $80 million deal with Red Bull after taking her advice, choosing instead to sign a $60 million deal with Ferrari. At one point, I was considering a two-year contract, but Kim encouraged me to take a one-year deal instead. Her reasoning? Keep my options open and give myself more time to pursue opportunities with major fashion brands and build my profile beyond motorsport. Sometimes, the right person can completely change how you look at a major career decision.

Long before Emmylou Harris became a 14-time Grammy winner and a Country Music Hall of Fame member, she was a young girl growing up in a close-knit military family. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1947, Harris was raised largely in Virginia. Her father, Walter Harris, was a Marine Corps officer who spent 10 months as a prisoner of war during the Korean War. She later described her parents as extraordinarily loving and said they gave her a sheltered, supportive upbringing. At 16, music began opening up a completely different world for her. She listened to folk music on the radio, discovered artists such as Joan Baez and Bob Dylan, and eventually picked up a guitar. Then, at 21, she left for New York to pursue music. Life didn't go exactly as planned. She married songwriter Tom Slocum, had her first daughter at 22, and the marriage ended about a year later. Harris returned home to Virginia with her daughter. And this is one of the most touching chapters of her story: her parents didn't judge her. Her childhood home became a safe place for her and her daughter. Harris later recalled that her parents essentially told her that she would always have a home with them. She eventually rebuilt her life and career. Then came Gram Parsons, who helped her discover the voice and musical identity that would define her career. When Parsons died in 1973, Harris was devastated—but she continued. She later became a mother again. Reflecting on the birth of her second daughter, Harris called that day the one day of her life she would choose to live again, describing it as a moment when everything felt perfectly aligned. From a military family... To a teenage girl discovering folk music... To a 22-year-old mother returning home... To heartbreak and loss... And eventually to 14 Grammys, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the legendary Trio with Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt. Her story raises a powerful question: How many people would have given up after the first major setback—but Emmylou Harris kept going? Sometimes the greatest stories aren't about how someone became famous. They're about everything they had to survive before anyone knew their name.
