Seriously, this is up there for fastest postgame handshake ever. Cedric Thomas worked under Fred McNair at Alcorn before taking over when McNair left after 2023.

The hit that knocked #Southern QB Jalen Woods out of the game. No flag thrown for targeting and could not be reviewed because there is no replay here in Valley. Terrene Graves and the entire SU sideline was rightfully livid. WAFB

Lady Jags are Columbia bound! #Southern will play Samford in a 16 seed play in game on Thursday. Winner gets top seed South Carolina in the first round. WAFB

"It takes an idiot to play an idiot. If you know the count & you jump, you're an idiot." #Southern head coach Marshall Faulk has a short leash for pre-snap penalties. SU has been near the top of the SWAC in penalties and that's featured a lot of jumping.

#Southern head coach Marshall Faulk explains the reason for Fred McNair calling the plays & Ken Merchant going to the booth. Faulk says going forward it will be a "collaborative effort". WAFB

"I will fight for them boys any day. I just wanted to be the first to do it on the front line." #Southern quarterback Christian Johnson ran the ball 14 times for 81 yards and a TD. He's still brand new to the scene yet his debut showed promise & toughness.

Trey Holly totaled just over 900 yards with 9 touchdowns in his first season at #Southern. Now what could Chucky accomplish under Marshall Faulk & Ken Merchant? 🧐

First day in pads for #Southern and OL coach Donald Penn was on 1⃣!

One thing about #Southern fans/alumni, they will not let their athletes starve! The football team got an enormous spread following yesterday's scrimmage, which is common on fan fest & after home games. The newcomers couldn't believe what they were being treated to. 😂

Madison Prep ➡️ Southern➡️ LSU A true Baton Rouge trifecta for Treylan James. The defensive back totaled 26 tackles & 5 PBUs this past season. His physicality is a plus as well.

#Southern fall camp under Marshall Faulk has begun. The QB competition continues on with Ashton Strother, Wyatt McCauley (#9), and now Christian Johnson (#10). Johnson transferred from Hutchinson CC earlier in the summer.
