Allow me to introduce you to the late Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse, also known as Baye Niass. He was a Senegalese Islamic scholar and a major leader of the Tijaniyya Sufi order in West Africa. His branch of the Tijaniyya, associated with the Fayda, attracted millions of followers across West Africa and continues to have a large following today. His followers display his pictures everywhere, sing his praises, and keep his image prominently around them.
