Canal Street at Rampart in New Orleans and the French Quarter. The corner where the Hard Rock Hotel under construction collapsed, killing three people. That happened nearly 7 years ago. Time stands still in New Orleans. Still no development on this coveted site. An entryway to the French Quarter. Just crazy. We’ve got to do better. Lost tax revenue

In the last 20 years, New Orleans has lost 1/3 of its tree canopy. We’re down to 18% citywide. That’s unacceptable. Atlanta Georgia has a 47% tree canopy. Oak trees not only keep things cooler in the summer months, they are incredible flood mitigators, absorbing hundreds of gallons of water each. We need to plant oak trees all over the city all the time.

Several inches of rain fell on New Orleans this afternoon. A few inches in about an hour and a half. Torrential downpour. This is Vendome in Uptown New Orleans. Over a foot deep in many spots. In 90 minutes, New Orleans just produced nearly 50% of San Diego‘s annual rainfall. It’s crazy

The Orleans Parish side of the 17th street canal continues to have an inferior flood wall/levee compared the Jefferson Parish side. It was inferior over 20 years ago when Katrina hit causing Lakeview to flood while Bucktown remained entirely dry. The lesser quality still exist today on the Orleans parish side. Why? Unacceptable. I’m guessing this is federal $$$ too. No excuses

Why is New Orleans spending $160,000 for an Indiana company to come snow plow some areas for 24 hours? Couldn’t the city buy a plow or 3, that hooks on the front of an existing city truck? $160k for 24 hours seems excessive. But key road, interstate, must be cleared

Attention City Of New Orleans! Prytania, about 100 yards before downtown side of Napoleon. An absolutely dangerous pothole/sinkhole that could rip off the front spoiler, and/or blow out your front tires and bend the rims, of one’s vehicle. Unacceptable. Fix this now. Could kill a motorcyclist. Especially at night. Can’t see it! Hit this at speed, 35mph, airbags could go off. Bad in both directions! At least have blinking light caution cone. But ideally fix yesterday

I believe the Houston’s on St Charles in the 40s was a Higgins boat factory. I’m assuming these are some leftover parts or machinery from that factory. These are in the corner of the Houston’s parking lot. There’s a history lesson around every corner in New Orleans.

Holy smokes! LGD Lawn and Landscapes of New Orleans just installed a chipping and putting green in my backyard. Synlawn is the same synthetic turf that Tiger Woods uses in his TGL golf tour. Get yours. So friggin cool. Taking my short game to another level

You have to be impressed with the City Of New Orleans, the new City Of New Orleans! Helena Moreno and essentially her infrastructure chief Steve Nelson. They are attacking the street problems I’ve been posting. The latest, Carrollton Avenue right past the I-10 entrance. This problem has been there for years. They are fixing it right. Not some patch, but doing it properly. A permanent fix. Go NOLA go. I posted my video last Wednesday. As I predicted, less than a week later, getting it done.

The Senator Nat Kiefer Sr UNO Lakefront Arena was built with the NBA in mind. Designed where upper deck seating could be added to the building. Remove the roof structure and build up! Btw, Larry Bird’s 60 point game in 1985 was played at the Lakefront Arena

Entergy New Orleans trucks making an illegal turn. Won’t bury our powerlines. Continues the horrendous practice of V-cutting our precious Oak trees. And power goes out way too often when it rains. Got to do better Entergy. It starts with the small stuff. Like the illegal left turn on Claiborne and Carrollton.

One of the best food deals in the entire Metro New Orleans area. Short Stop Po Boys on transcontinental a block off airline has a small roast beef for $6.42. I don’t know how you can beat that. And it’s one of the best roast beef Po Boys in town. An 8 inch roast beef Poboy is just $6.42. That’s crazy, in a good way.
