“I am a Kwankwaso supporter, but neither I nor my people will vote for him because of Peter Obi. Peter Obi does not have a vision that serves the interests of our people. Electing him would create more challenges for our Northern communities.” ~ Hamisu Iyantama

Abba, who was once abducted by bandits, narrated how the driver of the vehicle they boarded allegedly led them into the k¥dna0ping incident and then escaped. Abba said they boarded a vehicle from Gusau to Sokoto at the official New Gusau Motor Park. He was traveling together with other victims, Maryam and Yasmeen. According to him, shortly after they began the journey, they stopped at a filling station to buy fuel and then continued their trip. After covering some distance, the driver started complaining that the vehicle had developed a fault. They stopped briefly for him to inspect it before proceeding again. When they got close to a military checkpoint, where soldiers had stopped vehicles for inspection, the driver allegedly refused to stop and simply drove past the checkpoint. A short distance later, Abba said he suddenly heard people praying and began seeing men with long hair, charms, and guns. Before he could fully understand what was happening, he looked toward the driver’s seat and discovered that the driver was no longer there. The driver had fled, and no one saw how or where he escaped, leaving the passengers behind.

Arewa 😭💔 It is heartbreaking for a family to see their son, brother, or father chained by ruthless bandits. They b3at and tœrtüre him while he desperately pleads with his parents to sell their belongings and do everything possible to secure his freedom. May Allah protect our people and bring an end to this insecurity. 🤲💔

The National Security Adviser Addressing the Press at the High-Level African Counter-Terrorism Meeting NSA: Efforts are being made to reach an understanding in order to stop this situation. Reporter: An understanding? Or negotiations with the terrorists? NSA: If your own brother that you live in the same house with and something happen to him, would you say he is no longer your brother? Or if your hand starts hurting, would you cut it off? Whether we like it or not, there are many of them want peace, they want this to stop. We must seek for dialogue and understanding. We need to understand that we are not fighting another country. We are not fighting an external war. It is a calamity that has come into our own home. With God’s help, there will be an understanding. Just like when brothers disagree and later come to realize something is not right understanding can be reached."
