So, the truth is finally out. Mercedes has now clarified that Kamsy did NOT drop the used pad. According to her, Kamsy only tried to take responsibility because she didn’t want another woman to be publicly embarrassed or humiliated over such a sensitive situation. She wanted to protect the dignity of a fellow woman and prevent the issue from escalating. However, Mercedes insisted on keeping the pad and searching every female housemate to identify who it belonged to. Unfortunately, Kamsy’s attempt to shield someone else came at a huge personal cost. She was dragged across social media, called “dirty,” insulted, and subjected to a narrative that wasn’t true. Sometimes, choosing compassion means carrying a burden that was never yours to begin with. We hope those who were quick to judge can also be quick to acknowledge the truth. Just yesterday, Kamsy opened up about how much it hurt that her body was used to determine the kind of role she should be given. This morning, another set of housemates sat down discussing that same body in detail after one of them saw her innocently taking her bath. Talking about How big her breasts, her stomach is, even using gestures to describe what she saw. There’s something deeply uncomfortable about knowing that while Kamsy was simply in the bathroom, completely unaware, her body is being observed and turned into a conversation.
