Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s remarks at the CII meeting expose his arrogance and his lifelong contempt for public sector workers. Insulting the employees of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by calling them lazy and questioning their commitment shows how disconnected he is from the sacrifices of Andhra people. Instead of admitting policy failures and the lack of support from the Centre, Naidu chose to blame the very workers who kept the plant alive through crises. VSP is not just a factory; it is a symbol built through the blood and sweat of Andhras. Yet Naidu trivialised their struggle, mocked concerns about privatization and behaved as if taxpayers’ money is his personal property. A leader who talks down to his own people and demeans their labour is not fit to lead.
