Albanese says people need to “do a bit better” and “be like Helen” as communities hold vigils for independent MP Helen Haines. He was then asked if that applies to everyone, after a journalist noted he had recently called Angus Taylor an “idiot.” The PM has form for hostile language in Parliament: he called out “smash her!” while a colleague questioned Sussan Ley, and in 2024 he asked opposition MPs (including Taylor) if they had Tourette’s (“babble, babble, babble”). If anyone needs to set a better example on civil discourse, it’s the Prime Minister. (His office also recently circulated a “dirt sheet” on Haines herself.) What a disgrace he is!

When Anthony Albanese was Deputy Prime Minister, he says he never had any security and didn’t face the concerns that are routine now. As PM, he has revealed that about 20 charges have been laid against people for threats against him. He blames social media for normalising aggressive disagreement instead of simple “I disagree with you.” Is it really just social media or his actions, the lies, and how he’s handled his tenure? When confronted face to face by citizens, this PM runs away or refuses to answer questions. It sounds like social media is being used as a Trojan horse to silence government critics.
