The #BlueJays can't have Jesús Sánchez's defence in the outfield at this point. They're running the risk that one of them will flip a key game. This extended the inning on Spencer Arrighetti when he'd earned the quick 1-2-3.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. missed his first home run at home in 2026 by inches. His swing can come together in an instant like this, which makes his season even more puzzling. This is the best contact he's made in a while. #BlueJays

Inside fastballs keep beating Vladimir Guerrero Jr., which is the most surprising part of his 2026 struggles. Left: Today Right: 2025 ALDS Same pitch, same location, different swings. Watch his hips and how he rotates through. One fully unleashes him, one doesn't. #BlueJays

These are the types of swings we've seen from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. at points in 2026 when he's searching for timing timing. Watch his front-foot step, which is out of sync with what the rest of his body is doing. When one little piece of timing is off, it's all off. #BlueJays

This was one of the more out-of-sync swings I've seen from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. No threat of hard contact on that swing and his lower body wasn't involved much at all, which is where his incredible natural power comes from. #BlueJays

Those last two swings, in particular, really capture what Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is going through right now. When he's at his best, Vladdy is a rare hitter who's capable of controlling the at-bat instead of the pitcher. This looks like the opposite. #BlueJays

Huge swing play here. It looked like the #BlueJays could get the clean out at first and hold the KC runner at third, but instead, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s sidearm throw sailed a bit (and may have just glanced the runner). The inning rolls on, and they're now down, 4-1.

Huge swing from Nathan Lukes. The #BlueJays need moments like this, and Guerrero's yesterday, where someone actually drives the baseball in the middle of all these singles.

$Alejandro Kirk's power returning has been so important for this lineup. It always takes a while for a hitter returning from a fracture in their hand/wrist, but this is the best Kirk has looked in a long time. #BlueJays$

Sean Keys hit his 19th home run of the season today with Triple-A Buffalo (14 in AA, 5 in AAA). None of them are cheap, either. There are still roadblocks for him as a 1B/3B defensively, but his bat alone could knock the door down eventually. Huge development for the #BlueJays
