In 2021, I met a little boy in Darkuman who was making toy cars out of pieces of wood. I remember looking at him and thinking, “This child is gifted.” But behind that gift was a painful story. Prince Kojo was being raised by a single mother who was struggling to make ends meet. He had very little support and was enduring abuse at the hands of his stepfather. Like many children born into difficult circumstances, he had talent, dreams, and potential, but not the opportunities he needed to thrive. By the grace of God, we took him under our care at For The Future Ghana, supported his education, secured a scholarship for him to study Robotics at Asustem Robotics, and helped put him on the right path to gain admission to a TVET school, where he started studying Auto Mechanics last year. Today, Prince Kojo is beginning a sponsored automotive training programme at the West African Vehicle Academy in Accra during his school vacation. Sometimes I look at his journey and wonder what would have happened if nobody had stopped to care. How many brilliant children are out there right now, full of potential but trapped by circumstances they did not choose? Prince Kojo’s story reminds me that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. And sometimes, all it takes to change a child’s life forever is one person deciding to believe in them. Who knows what is next for him? Maybe one day he will build his own automobile company. Maybe he will design vehicles that transform the industry, or perhaps he will start his own toy car manufacturing company. What I do know is this: his story is only just beginning. And I could not be more proud of him. ❤️

Today, I travelled for over 3 hours to Agona Odoben in the Central Region to meet 5-year-old twins, Robert and Roberta. They have been abandoned by both parents and live with their grandmother, who is doing her best but simply does not have the means. They are currently not in school because of this, and even basic things like food and clothing are a struggle. I got to know about them through my friend Kelvin, and I just knew I had to show up for them. So today, we went to see them and began the process of enrolling them in school. We have made arrangements for their uniforms and learning materials to enable them to start school this month. It really does take one moment, and people choosing to care, to change the entire course of a child’s life for good. Robert and Roberta deserve a chance at a better future, and we are going to do everything we can to make sure they get it. ❤️

Almost five years ago, one of our bright beneficiaries, David, lost his mother after she travelled to the Upper East Region to seek medical treatment. He became an orphan. In the midst of that tragedy, he left Accra and disappeared from our scholarship programme. We did everything we could to bring him back. We had even identified a loving family that was ready to take him in so he could continue his education through our Student Training and Education Programme (STEP), but his family was not ready to let him return. We never gave up. In 2024, we heard that David had returned to Accra, so we travelled to Kasoa to look for him. We were relieved to find him, but his family was not forthcoming, making it difficult for us to stay in touch. Sadly, by the time we returned, he had been taken back to the Upper East Region. Then, just recently, we received the phone call we had been praying for. One of David’s cousins had brought him back after learning that he was being mistreated. At just 13 years old, David had been out of school for years and was being made to work on farms instead. Today, David is finally back. He may be behind in school, but he is not behind in potential. We are determined to help him catch up, heal, and build the future he deserves. As we prepare to support David’s return to school, he will need school fees, uniforms, books, stationery, personal items, counselling, and the care every child deserves to thrive. I was invited by my baby Lizzy’s school to speak to the students about the legal profession for Career Day/Open Day. The Director insisted I come in full legal attire, so I did. Lizzy ran to hug me when she saw me, and it was so heartwarming. I love this girl to bitsss. 🥰❤️

Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting Kids Haven Montessori School to deliver another Career Day talk on the legal profession. They said, “Come in your wig and gown.” I understood the assignment. 😂 I think I’m quickly becoming the children’s favourite lawyer because the way they didn’t even want me to leave… chai! 😂😂😂 They even pulled my gown from the back in their excitement to speak to me. Too much love! 🥹 These children are superrr brilliant. They asked me some really thoughtful questions about the legal profession and what it takes to become a lawyer in Ghana. There is something so special about spending time with children, helping them dream bigger, and showing them that their aspirations are achievable through hard work, discipline, and God’s grace. It is such a blessing! If I inspired even one child to believe in themselves and pursue their purpose, then it was a day well spent. ❤️✨
